One heck of a senior year

Prologue

Hello, so I'm doing this #justwriteit challenge and this is just a tryout. trust me, you'll love it.

It was an ordinary morning at school. No one in my grade was really hyped about being a senior unlike what was usually depicted in movies and books. Maybe it was because our principal, Mr Walters had addressed us earlier and the whole going to college and big exams had sunk into our heads.

"We already have group assignments in biology. Like, its the first day of school! don't the teachers know that?", Emma, one of my two best friends asked with wide eyes.

"Stop being so hysterical. What did you expect? a pool party?" Ariana, my other best friend asked.

Emma looked at her like she had asked the most stupid question in the world. "Um, yeah", she said.

"You guys, cut it out. its gonna be a great year. I swear I can smell college right now. yeah, a little party now and then but the most important thing is to graduate high school.

"Look at you, all grown up. I'm a proud mama", Emma said pretending to tear up.

I chuckled at her antics. "I know right. What could go wrong?" I said.

   Asking what could go wrong was something I should never had done. It always happens in movies. when a character asks what could go wrong, something usually goes wrong. It happened during lunch. Dale Collins told me he liked Ariana. You would ask whats wrong with that. The deal is, Dale and I have been friends since forever. Basically, family friends and I like him. so I've been the girl friend who likes the boy but shuts up about it and watch him date other girls. Now he likes my bestfriend.

"Are you joking" I asked him with wide eyes.
"I've done for a while T" he said.
  Now I'm sure most people would be heartbroken but all I felt was nothing. A big void of nothingness where my heart was to be. But as the bestest friend I was, I put on a huge smile. "I'll see what I can do" I said despite the huge lump in my throat
