I floated alone in the black emptiness that surrounded me. A white aura seemed to surround me, although it was bright, it was not bright enough to illuminate the pitch black emptiness that seemingly stretched for miles. I slightly moved my head, turning to look around to see if there was anything, anything or anyone. I had no idea where I was, who I was, or what was going on. A sense of worry rushed over me.
'Am...am I dead?' I thought, waving my hand in front of me, which wasn't a hand at all, just white sparkles that seemed to replace my body. I felt a tingly sensation. Everything about me seemed so happy and comforting. It was like a nice warm fireplace to comfort you on a cold day. However, the darkness was not so comforting. It seemed to be looming over me, making me feel more vulnerable than usual.
Every time I moved, a white streak was left behind me. I looked around, trying to search for anything besides myself, which seemed to be the only thing in this void of darkness. I spotted something...a light. It wasn't white, or black, or red, or purple or any other color...it was all of them.
There was a bright flash of every color you could imagine. It swallowed the void, along with me in it...and I felt as if I was being controlled, forced into a strange reality where I didn't belong. As soon as the flash was over, everything went black again. I heard a voice.
"Is she awake...?"
"She is in poor condition, but she should wake up soon...TS-172 is more fragile than I had expected..."
"What is her color?"
"White."
This conversation went on for what seemed like hours. I laid, unmoving. I couldn't move, I couldn't do anything. My eyes opened and I found myself sitting up.
"Your awake." A man in a lab coat greeted me. He had a strong jawline and foggy grey eyes. His black hair was a bit messy and he seemed as if he hadn't shaved in a while. He wore bare glasses, that had silver lining and a small amount of gold. A small light gently swung above me, revealing the bare, pale grey room I sat in. I looked down at my hands and wriggled my fingers.
"Where...who..what...?" I breathed, running my fingers from the end of my toe, past my pale legs and over my hospital gown, up to my shoulder.
"You are TS-172, aka Test Subject one-seventy two." The man explained.
"You do not have a name yet. You had given up your life for a science experiment." He said, adjusting his glasses.
"I did?"
"Yes. You have been here for three years." He paused, observing a piece of paper that was nailed to the door. "In order to gain more control over all living life we have conducted an experiment which should give you special abilities."
"Wow..." I swung my legs. It was hard to wrap my mind around everything that was happening. I gave up my life for an experiment...so I could gain more control over living things? It just didn't make any sense. Why can't I remember anything?
"So, if you would kindly cooperate, and follow me." The man said, beginning to walk out of the room.
"Oh, by the way, I am Dr. Agha." He said, spinning around to face me.
"Oh...ok." I said, hesitantly. He motioned for me to follow him as he exited the room. I stood up, and followed him willingly. As we walked past corridors, I noticed mirrors hanging on the wall. I paused to stop and look at one. I saw myself. I had a few freckles. Pale skin. Long wavy white hair and bright yellow eyes. I noticed a small object in my chest. It was a circular white object. It was smooth surfaced and shiny. It released a soft white glow.
"What's that?" I asked Dr. Agha, quickly running up behind him and pointing to the object.
"That is simply part of the culmination of your life. If that is to shatter, you to will break. It releases your glow. Your true color. Everyone has a different color. Yours is white. It is called a moonstone." He explained, not looking anywhere except for ahead. I simply nodded. We past doors and doors, windows and windows, until we came into an opening.
There was a large room, filled with people like me. Everyone had their own glow. They were all walking around or sitting, chatting. I noticed that almost everyone seemed a bit scared, unhappy, or angry. I began to get nervous.
'Why did I agree to this? What's going on?'
Questions ran through my head as we continued walking through the large room. I walked past a boy. His color was green. The object on his chest was rocky and spiky. It was lime green. He had spiky black hair and bright green eyes. He had his knees pulled up to his chest and his head was in his lap. His arms wrapped around himself nervously.
I quietly walked up to him.
"Uh...hello? A-are you ok?" I asked. He looked up at me and jumped as if scared or surprised. His bright green eyes seemed to flash as he looked at me.
"Wh...why do you care?" He asked, backing away.
"Sorry. I was just wondering." I said.
"Come with me, and don't get distracted. Pay no attention to these people." Dr.Agha said, grabbing my hand and pulling me along. I walked with him. We came up to more rooms and Windows. He pulled some sort of device out of his pocket as we approached a pale grey door.
There was a sign hanging next to it that read 'TS-172'
He put the device up to the door and a beeping noise echoed throughout the silent halls. The door opened and he commanded me to go inside. I did as I was told and I walked inside. He closed the door and locked it.
"How long will I stay in here?" I asked, observing the bare room. There was one bed, a toilet, and a refrigerator.
"You will stay here until it is time for us to test you. To see what your capable of. You will be battling so attempt to use your powers while I am gone." He said.
"How?!"
Without responding to my question, he walked away, and I was left in a dark, contained room with a million questions and apparently some sort of magical powers...
