The Vigilante

Part 1: Changing

You see it was a normal day for Roy Jackson. He was an average kid in school, did sports, and above all was really competitive. Roy knew that highschool wasn't all he had in mind. He wanted to do something greater. Something beyond him. Roy lived in a small town that its population was about 10,000 people. He was a 16 year old kid that did cross country and many did many other things also, like lift weights.

As Roy was heading home from another boring day of school he saw these adults in an ally way with a girl he knew that was in his class. He looked and noticed that she was going to get raped, he bolted after the guys and yelled "GET OFF OF HER". Roy ran and ripped one guy down and started to beat on him senseless, knocking him out the other two grab Roy and threw him down on the floor pinning him, he screamed at the girl to run and she did getting away safely. "We're gonna screw you up nice and slow there man" one guy said. "Ya, thanks for letting out "dinner" get away" said the other. Roy started to get pissed off, "She isn't your play thing, I get you bastards for doing something to her". The crooks looked at Roy and turned to each other and smiled, "You know what to do, Jack","I'm gonna gut you like a fish" he pulls out a huge knife, they both strip him of his jacket and shirt and pin him down again. The two take the huge knife and slice it across Roy's chest, slowly and painfully. "Aaaaaaahhhhhh" Roy screamed. "Shhhh, now, now. Don't wanna attract attention now do we". After the two were done with his chest they cut him across the face. The scar was from his forehead down to his cheek passing through the eye but missing it. Roy was in so much pain he barely had any words to describe it, he said in a low helpless voice "someone....please....help....me" but no one came he was on his own. After the two cut him up some more they left him there to die. After they left the girl who was about to get raped came back, and saw the mess and pools of blood. She was about to throw up, but called 911 to get help. She tried to help by stopping the bleeding but it was no good, Roy was losing to much blood. The ambulance finally arrived and picked up Roy and got him to immediate care/surgery. As the doctors put the gas the makes you fall asleep on him, Roy mumbled something to himself. Something that only he could hear before he fell asleep, in a low wiser he said the following words...."i shall never be that hopeless again". Roy fell asleep while the doctors did the surgery to save this 16 years old life. Roy never knew if he would wake up the same person or not. He just knew, that he was gonna never be "scarred" again.
