Tuesday- 1:30, Back of the school
"I never thought you were one to skip school." Said Jean Kirstein. He was sitting next to Armin Arlert, possibly the school's biggest nerd, at the back of the school. It was third period.
"It's a pep rally this period," Armin explained "All that school spirit makes me feel sick."
Jean laughed. "I know what you mean."
"Like in 3 years, I'll probably be long gone off to university or something. Everything's going to change, stuff's actually going to matter and I'm defiantly not going to care who won the nationals when I was 15." Armin told him, making Jean laugh. "Also it's all jocks and cheerleaders. Everyone's an asshole."
There was a brief moment of silence. "You don't have many friends, do you?" Jean asked.
"I have Eren and Mikasa. You?"
"I know everyone. Not saying we get along or anything but I know them."
"That's how you knew my name?"
Jean looked Armin up and down. "Kinda hard to miss. Not many people have hair like that."
"Not many people have hair like yours either."
"Well, I'll tell you what I think. Eren's a jerk. Mikasa's beautiful and intelligent and amazing in all respects. I guess that could even out to me liking your friends."
"Looks like someone has a crush on Mikasa." Armin said, making Jean turn red.
"W-What's it to you?" He stuttered.
Armin giggled "I could put in a good word for you you know."
"Really? Thanks."
There was a moment of silence, then the bell rang. Armin got up to go.
"See you around? I'm not sure if you and I have any classes together..."
"Gym." Jean told him.
"Right, see you later then."
As he left Armin couldn't stop smiling. What a positive human interaction he thought.

Wednesday- 2:00, the gym
"Keep running, Arlert. You have to keep up with the rest of the class if you want to pass!" The gym teacher yelled as Armin panted along the track. He hated gym class.
Jean had forgotten his uniform and was sitting on the sidelines listening to music. Every so often he'd glance up at the runners, trying not to pay too much attention to their legs.
Can't catch me, gay thoughts he thought to himself and turned up his phone. He watched the runners a bit more, seeing Armin walk up to him, barely able to breathe.
"Hello..." Armin gasped. He looked cute in his gym uniform, blue shorts and a white t-shirt with the schools crest on it. Armin's long hair was tied away from his face, which was covered in sweat.
"Hey," Jean said, making room for him on the bench "You ok?"
"I told the teacher my leg felt like it was going to fall off."
"Does it?"
"Honestly, my everything feels like it's about to fall off."
Jean laughed. He found himself unable to look away from Armin with his hair like that.
"Hey, your hair looks good tied up."
"Thanks."
They sat in silence for a while, watching people run by. One of them, a tall muscular guy ran up to them, jogging in place while he talked.
