The Beginning

Chapter 1

Sophie's POV:

There's a road ahead of me                                                                                                                                  

swiftly fast, cutting edges,                                                                                                                                           

 I'm reaching my way,                                                                                                                                                     

 finally here!                                                                                                                                                                       

 I've reached,                                                                                                                                                                       

but there's still more to go.                                                                                                                                          

My ride awaits,                                                                                                                                                                  

 to make the sun behind me,

let the birds follow along. I'm almost at my destination. It's a struggle to move places but this is just the beginning of my journey. Oops! I forgot to give an introduction, my name is Sophie Rutherford and I'm from Halifax, Canada and I'm moving to Miami, one of the most relaxing places ever. Sadly I'm not going as to relax, but to study (sad face), any who I have to start school soon but first I've got to pick a new room and start unpacking

(after 4 or 5 hours)

My new room as an amazing beach view of Miami and the room is very spacious. It took me 2 days to finish settling up and I was exhausted from all that work, so after all of that I went done to the kitchen to grab a snack and headed out to the beach. The wind was pleasant and the smell of the beach was just so amazing. (ring, ring, ring) (mom calling) (on the phone: 

Sophie: "Hello?"

Mom: "Hi sweetie!"

Sophie: "Hi mom!"

Mom: "Sweetie I've got some good news and bad news. The good news is that your best friends are here and waiting for you and the bad news is that I have work now and I'll be home late. Sorry about that, even though we just moved and all, but I hope that is fine with you?"

Sophie: "Wow Rebecca and Justin are here!? Awesome and don't worry about me, I'll take care of myself and I'm on my way, so you can just carry on." (ends call)

I forgot to add that I have 2 amazing best friends, Rebecca is the ultimate sassy girl and peppy attitude with many amazing personalities. Justin is my guy best friend, he has been my neighbor ever since I was little, so technically he is my childhood best friend and we go long back together and he is one of the best soccer player which I know. I walked in and Rebecca just jumped on top of me with Justin holding us in the air, it was such an amazing feeling to be with them because they make everything right in the world.

We went out to the mall and did some shopping, but mostly ate food. I mean I love shopping a lot, but when it comes to being with your best friends, you would just eat no matter what other people say, cause that is just how we are. (after a few minutes have passed) I looked at the time and it was already 10 pm Shoot I got to go home, but there wont be anything to do, I'll ask Rebecca and Justin if they would like a sleepover. "Hey guys would you like to stay at my place today since there isn't anybody home and plus I'll be bored". Rebecca " Yea totally we would want to stay anyways, when your alone you start to look for food, then wander around, then watch scary movie to make it worse for you. Girl I know you and we ain't leaving you alone, your mom told us to stay." Sophie "Wow! You DO know me, alright let's go then!"

On our way to my house, i noticed a Black SUV parked. "Is my mom having friend over?" All 3 of us gave each other confused looks. I ran inside and saw a handsome man in a black suit, like a 21 year old guy at work except its night and looking up close, i realized he looks pretty young nearly my age. The man said "Sorry to disturb you at this time, my name is Roger Landell and i was wondering if your mother is around?" "No she isn't, but how did you enter my house without even bothering to wait outside?" trying my best not to sound frustrated and my level best to be calm at the same time, so i asked in a stern voice the man replied "You see your mother is my bosses assistant and I'm a very good friend of your mother, I'm the one who made her get the job and move here. I also have got her place to stay and that is this house, your staying in, I thought your mother must have told you." Roger said in a very polite tone. I didn't want to be more rude to him since he was being sweet. We talked for a while about how he knew my mom, me and if he was married and had any kids. I asked out of curiosity if he had an older son, I know what you guys are thinking but a girl just has to know, and it turns out after the conversation Roger and my mom have known each other since high school and it looked like he had a thing for my mom or maybe he still does? But I'm quite not sure yet, I mean come on it's so cute to be there for someone, even when my mom got married and then got divorced, still he was there for her. Alright so moving on, sorry but I'm not really a cheesy romantic type of a person, after that Rebecca, Justin and I watched some movies and slept around 12 - ish. Now tomorrow will be a big day, since I will attend my new school and I hope it goes well.
