"Shut up," I laugh and slap his gut, he laughs along.

"I hope you don't try that if someone really is trying to steal you," he laughs again.

"Ha! Ha! Look at Mr. Funny. Bringing all the laughs I see," I joke right back.

"I just got you good though, don't lie," he smiles and waits for me to admit it.

"Oh. My name is Luke and I think just because I can sing and play a guitar, I'm really cool. Let's go on a date hot stuff," I try mocking him, but fail completely because he hasn't given me anything to make fun of him about.

"Take that back or you'll never get this cake," he says

"I'd rather never eat it again than take it back," I lie. That stuff's the best. I get into line only to have Luke wrap his arms around me and pull me back out of line.

"I told you, no cake," he chuckles. "Just take it back," he holds me in front of him so I can't get back in line.

"I'm not going to admit it.."

"Fine. Looks like we're just going to stand here all day. I hope you don't mind standing with me, or this," he says wiggling his arms that were still around me, "'cause they're going to be here, right next to all this delicious food, until you say it.." he taunts

"So you think this bothers me?" I look down at his arms and back up to meet his eyes. I take him by surprise when I put my arms around his neck. "Let me get this straight.. You're pretty hot, no shame in admitting it. You're tall and got some pretty good muscles. Your eyes are as blue as the water in the fountain and you can sing like an angel. But some how, you think that, your arms around me, will bother me..? I guess I gave you too much credit in the smarts department.." I trail off.

"You really think all of that?" he asks. I nod, I don't say a word. Scared to ruin the moment as he smiles and loses himself in my eyes. His eyes flutter down to my lips and I know what's coming. Who wouldn't? The butterflies demand control of my stomach. He gets closer and closer. I can nearly feel his breath as it fans out over my face. Just mere centimeters.

"PSYCH," I laugh and his shock allows me to get out of his hold. Not that I really wanted to be. Oops. I mean, what I said was partially true, but I don't have feelings for him. I keep feeling like there's things that I should know about him before I let myself like him. There's obviously a reason, other than him hitting on my at the pool, that Michael doesn't like him too much.

"Wow.. You don't know how to play nice, do you?" he grins cockily, but his flushed cheeks say that he's embarrassed.

"Not particularly, no," I laugh.

"Clearly," he huffs.

"One large funnel cake, please," I say to the worker behind the counter. I take out my wallet to pay for it, but Luke was already handing over a couple bills. "I could've gotten it," I say sticking my money back inside.

"It's my treat. It's a date remember..?" he winks. "Well technically it's a fake date, but oh well," he shrugs and smiles. I grab my cake from the man that had just made it and sprinkled the sugar on top.

We start to walk away, eating the cake together. It's so good. The sugar melts perfectly on my tongue, causing an orgasm in my mouth, as all my friends would vulgarly say.

I check my phone for the first time all night. It's nearly eleven. I expected it to be late, but not that late. I didn't think the night went that fast, but I was having fun, so it'd make sense. I involuntarily let out a yawn. Luke looks down to me.

"Tired?"

"Yeah, I guess so," I simply state.

"Let's call it a night and head back," he smiles and leads us back to his car.

The walk was quiet, but a comfortable quiet. We approach the car, he opens the door for me. The creek of it is loud enough to wake me up completely. He shuts the door as quietly as he can without it still being open and walks over to the driver's side. I shut my eyes just for a moment, but when they open back up, I am already back at my house.

"Hope," Luke says, placing a hand on my knee, trying to wake me.

"I'm up," I whisper.

"Here, I'll walk you to your door," he says as we both get out. I thought it was cute because I had never been walked to my door after a date--or even by a boy.

"Thanks for tonight. Fake date or not, I had a really good time," I smile up to him as we stop outside of my main door.

"I did too. I'm glad you chose me," he grins, showing those perfect teeth.

"Me too," I say just above a whisper.

"Ya know, I thought you were pretty hot, but I was worried that you'd be lame. You're a pretty rad chick," he says leaning in to me. I can feel the butterflies coming back. His eyes leave mine and watch my lips intently. Michael was my first real kiss, but this is completely different. That was just Michael. His lips are so close I almost close the distance off myself, but decide against it. I close my eyes, I wait.. and I wait..

"Sucks, doesn't it?" his hot breath fills my ear. The heat of his breath sends chills up me.

"Good night, Hope."
