My eyes widen as I realize what Killua is about to do.

"No!" I scream, running to step in between Killua and Bodoro. I feel Killua's sharpened nails scratch my arm, almost down to the bone. He harshly pushes past me and tears Bodoro's heart out.

A split-second later, the older man has officially died and Killua has run away. The referee is about to remove Bodoro's corpse as I think only one thing:

You're better than this, Killua.

***End of Flashback***

It wasn't my fault that Killua failed, but I could have done more to protect my friend. If Gon were there, he would have been able to help Killua more than I did. This is pointless. Having this internal debate won't help me complete my goal, nor will it change the past. What happened, happened and I can't do anything to alter the outcome. Now, I just have to continue on. I am worthy of my Hunter's License, if I wasn't, I wouldn't be sitting here right now.

"Now, you are almost ready to go out into the world as a Hunter. One of the most important things to know about your License is that-" Beans is cut off by the door being slammed open.

Silence envelops the room as Gon walks in. He walks down the steps to where Illumi is sitting. Gon turns to look boldly at Illumi.

"Apologize to Killua!" He assertively demands.

"Apologize? For what?" Illumi pretends to be clueless.

"You don't know what you did wrong?" Gon questions, angrily.

"Nope," He replies, still feigning ignorance.

"You don't have the right to be his brother," Gon says, his right fingers curling into a fist at his side.

"Must I earn the right to be his brother?" Illumi keeps up his act, as if he is innocent. Gon isn't about to play this game with him, so he grabs Illumi's wrist, so tight you can see his knuckles turning white. Gon yanks on Illumi's wrist, hard enough to send him across the room if he didn't keep a grip on his arm.

"He doesn't need to earn the right to be my friend!" Gon shouts, glaring up at him. His hand clenches down even tighter on Illumi's wrist, making a sickening crunch. Surely, a bone snapped.

"Don't bother apolagizing. Just take me to see Killua." Gon demands, not willing to take no for an answer.

"What will you do then?" Illumi asks.

"That should be obvious. I'm gonna rescue Killua!" Gon defiantly shouts.

"You make it sound like I kidnapped him. He walked away on his own," He says.

"But it wasn't by choice. He was being manipulated by you people. It's the same thing as kidnapping him!" Gon smartly says, undoubtedly loathing every word Illumi says, but not letting it get to him.

Chairman Netero walks towards the bickering pair and speaks.

"Gon, we happened to have discussed this subject earlier. Kurapika, Leorio, and Hikaru have all lodged complaints. The committee has been discussing the fairness of Killua's disqualification." Netero states, making Kurapika stand up.

"Our points are valid. Killua had been acting in a strange manner during and since his battle with the man who called himself Gitturackur!" Kurapika says matter-of-factly. "I believe that he was hypnotized into committing murder. Under normal circumstances, it would be impossible to use hypnosis to induce a person to kill. However, as Killua was raised in a family of assassins, murder was a part of his daily life so it's natural that he would lack the ethical restraint of most!"
