The day went so slow, although it wasn't as bad as i thought it was going to be. In my first lesson, Biology, I met a girl called Ali, she was small and very skinny. She had blonde hair and blue eyes and was a fairly popular girl and tended to fit in with the crowd. She was what we called one of the populars in Colorado, but unlike them she seemed really nice. She knew that i was new and showed me to most of my lessons and introduced me to some of the students at GreenLand. So all in all, my first day wasnt as bad as i thought it would be. Ali spent most of the day with me so i got no hassel from others.
I got home to an empty house as usual. I knew by now just to assume the my mum would be at work, as always. I threw my bags into a corner and slung my body onto the sofa. Just as i reached for the remote and got comfortable there was a loud, powerful pounding at the door. Typical.
I lumbered myself of the sofa gradually gaining control of my feet, and pulled myself together before I headed for the door. As i peered through the tinted glass, an average male was standing there. I tussled my hair and threw it over my shoulder and slowly opened the door.
"Hi." He smiled. "My name is Riley and I live just across the street. My.. my mum sent me over to welcome you to the neighbour hood. Its kind of weird if you ask me..." He chuckled. Riley had mousy blonde hair that reached just above his ears, he had green eyes and looked like a bad boy with his skinny jeans and a tight top under a leather jacket.
"Oah, hi. My names Eliza, we just moved here from America." I smiled and looked into his eyes, they were deep and quite mesmerising.
"America huh? What brought you to England?"
"My mum got a new job situated here. Nothing big. Just going to take some getting used to, but i'll be fine. Erm do you go to the local school?" I asked intrigued by him.
"No... Erm, actually i dont go to school. My mum doesnt believe in going somewhere just to learn when you can learn everything at home."
"So you're home schooled?" I asked. "I'd love to be home schooled. Shame my mum isnt like yours. All my mum cares about is work." I explained. He gave me a confused look and gave me a look of pitty.
"Your mum is one of those work-alcoholics huh?" Riley asked shifting from one foot to the other.
"Yeah..." I trailed off. "So, you look quite uncomfortable. Do you want to come in or...?"
"I cant at the minute, i have lessons to attend to. Another time? Say... Saturday?" He lifted one eyebrow whilst waiting for my answer.
"Uhm, Saturday?... No i cant i'm busy being bored..." His eyes sunk at that moment, almost like he was sad i rejected him. I then felt guilty and realized he didnt understand my sarcasm. "I was joking... Saturday sounds great." I smiled at him and his body seemed to relax. I think he's never been rejected.
"Okay, well... See you Saturday." He started to turn around and head for the steps.
"Tell your mum i said thanks for the welcome!" I shouted as he reached the end of my drive. He turned around and smiled.
After speaking to Riley i went inside and sat back down of the sofa. Half an hour had past and i'd started to drift into a deep sleep when i heard the door go again. I sighed heavily and stomped my feet in frustration as I walked to the door. Whoever it was knocked like a police officer. God, i hope it wasn't...My hands started to shake and i was panicking. No, I doubt it'd be them...
