Connor's POV:

I remember everything. The smell of the fresh summer air, the wind kissing my cheeks, the smile on my fathers face as he looked into my eyes from the drivers seat. He blue eyes caught sun and never let it go. Little did I know that would be the last time I would ever see them full of life. I was only 8 years old when my father and I were in the accident. Those boys never saw the stop sign in their drunken teenage haze. They t-boned our powder blue 1980s jeep convertible. My dad thrusted his strong tan arm against my chest. It only took a second for the truck to hit us but in the moment I locked eyes with my father, I could only faintly hear him whisper I love you but I knew in my heart what he said. I latched my little fingers around his strong arm, just waiting for the pain to be over and be in my fathers arms. The muscles in his arm began to tighten as the loud clash of the two cars and our jeep began to flip. My long blonde hair lashed at my face like a whip, I clung to my fathers arm like I never had before. His arm slipped away with me faster then I could cry out for him. We finally stopped after what seemed to be the 100th flip. My eyes flickered open, I frantically looked around for my dad. I was upside down in the car, the only thing that was holding me in place was the seat belt around my waist. I struggled for a few minutes to unlatch the tight belt when it finally let me go, I crawled from the wreckage. "Daddy! Daddy!" The alligator tears rolled down my cheeks, my swollen eyes scanned the side of the road looking for him. He was probably worried sick searching for me. My eyes finally caught him. He was laying in the grass his white t shirt had blood all over, "Daddy!" I shrieked as I pushed my little legs as hard as I could to get to his side as quickly as possible. "Connor? Connor baby?" He voice was raspy as he coughed up blood. I nuzzled my face into his chest as I heard the sirens off in the distance. "It's going to be ok daddy, the doctors are going to be here soon and take you to the hospital and make you good as new." I tried my best not to let my voice crack as he wrapped his arms around me and squeezed me tight. "You're going to be ok Connor." His lips gently pressed against my forehead. I felt the life leave him as his grip on me loosened. Two strong arms grabbed my waist and pulled me over its broad shoulders. I tried my best to fight back and get back to my dad. I yelled for him, I saw 4 men hovering above my dad. The strongest man I had ever known was now helpless and slipping through my fingers. I looked to my right and saw three boys blowing into some kind of pipe an officer was holding. I locked eyes with the tallest boy, his eyes were bright red and his face was white as snow. His brown eyes were filled with sadness as he locked with my green eyes. There was no way I would ever be able to forgive these 3 boys but I know that my dad would want me to. "Can you follow my finger with your eyes beautiful?" My eyes shot up toward the familiar voice his hazel eyes were filling with tears. "Uncle Jake!" I wrapped my arms as tightly as I could around his waist. I drenched his shirt with my tears. My uncle Jake was my dads older brother. They were almost identical except Jake was a little taller and he had hazel eyes but everything else was the same. They had the same smile, and laugh, they were both very strong and good. Jake was a paramedic. He tried his best not to cry in front of me, "I'm here for you now Connor." His voice cracked a little as he squeezed me. He looked me over, "If it makes you feel any better, you're still the most beautiful girl I have ever seen. Even with all these bruises." He chuckled. I tried my best to smile but it only made my cheeks hurt. Both of my cheeks were bruised and there was a deep gash on my left hip. Jake seemed to have over looked the gash. The blood was oozing onto my favorite pink sundress. "Let's get you to the doctor." He strapped me onto the gurney in the back of the ambulance. I began to feel light headed. The blood was now gushing from my side, Jake looked at me confused until he felt the warm liquid pooling up in the palm of his hand. His face turned white as a ghost as he looked up at me in horror as I fell back onto the gurney. "Dave! Quick!" That was the last thing I heard as my eye lids softly shut and my eyes rolled back.
