Just the End of the Beginning

The Enchanted Forest.
The day droned on, each hour seeming to grow longer and more tiring. Without the rest of the 'team' it seemed as quite and lonesome in the castle as before I had created Storybrooke. Only moments before, a portal had split the ground of Main Street taking along with it several of the citizens in Storybrooke, including Hook, Charming, and Zelena. I had researched every spell and curse I could find in the castle for a way back to Storybrooke. My son needs me even if he has Emma. But I guess this is for the best, losing Robin still hurt even after a full two years of torture and pain, with everyone pitying me. I don't need pity I need him back, I need to move on from him. My head began to hurt after hours of studious reading but I couldn't quit. I was no where close to quitting. I pulled from the third bookcase another dirt covered, brown leather book. I opened to the contents, no portals or curses just a simple fictional book. I gritted my teeth until my jaw hardened with bitter pain. I threw the leather book with all my might against the wooden door that stood across the library. The door creaked opened as the book's binding colliding with the stone edge of the door, breaking off pebbles of the castle's wall.
"Regina, love it's I," Hook's voice echoed into the room.
"What do you want, pirate?" I said, my jaw still clenched as I turned to face the bookshelves again.
"I'm bloody saving you from going mad, your majesty," he said as he bent to pick up the thrown book.
"It's been so long," I murmured under my breathe.
"I'm to late aren't I? Love we've only been here for eight hours." He placed the book on the end table by the the black clothed couch.
"Not that," I shouted. "The name. We've spent so long in Storybrooke it's hard to remember that I'm the queen and all the distant memories are just that, memories. Terrible deeds that I've done." I quieted my voice back.
"Take it from a past pirate those memories are the hardest things to live down. I've tried but they haunt, love." He paused to study the mounds of books stacked on the floor. "Come, Regina."
