John was no doubt intrigued by the laws of relativity.
To think that a scientist who lived in an age of primitive tools used to scan star systems for observational purposes could come up with such an advanced theory that eventually became new scientific laws.
It all fascinated John, his entire awareness was focused on this one piece of science that forever shaped modern space travel, even the illegal technology that utilized connecting singularities was first described a thousand years ago by other scientists.
There was also something called "Quantum Mechanics" but that was too complex for him and left that information for Charlie who specialized in that. For a ship captain he wasn't very bright nor was he smart in the field of advanced sciences. Even though he piloted a space ship named after an eminent Quantum Physicist.
Timelike curves were the pinnacle of John's research, he has heard of Kevin's current condition after the incident that happened in the cafeteria. He's in good shape and is perfectly healthy but the doctors believe that the sudden shock of fear from something he realized may have put him into a coma-like state. John hoped he would wake up soon, John cared about his whole crew, even if they were all smarter than him.
"Hmmm" Said John, "Powerful Gravitational fields produced by an extreme warping in spacetime could Loop the lightcones and create a closed timelike curve.." he said
John wondered, this no doubt aroused his curiosity, albeit his entire attention, but the fact that future could Loop into it's starting event just seems improbable, that's just time travel in a localized area and that is just impossible, what this the thing Kevin was talking about? Could the Spacetime Warp Accelerator that the Schrödinger is equipped with possibly lead the whole crew into a closed timelike curve and basically leave us all to die? It worried John, he could see how Kevin was so scared.

An ominous sounding female voice surrounded John's area, he instantly recognized it; the ship's Artificial Consciousness, Edna,
"You seem very confused on this, perhaps you are in need of assistance?" She said.
"No edna, I am just perplexed by the principle of closed timelike curves.. How can something like that be possible in the universe?" He asked,
"They are afterall apart of a universal law that has shaped modern space travel," Edna said "The modern principle of Gravitational waves and Wormholes were just mere speculation a thousand years ago when the law was built, of course it would be obvious that closed timelike curves would exist."
"I asked how it was possible." John said. He was getting annoyed with Edna as she only listed the facts he just learned about instead of giving a definite answer to his question.
"How and why it occurs is in your research, you don't need my help."
"Kevin was scared about these."
"And he has every reason to be scared."
"Thanks Edna, real comforting.."
"Just be glad I'm not some emotionless computer that merely tells you results."
"That's not the least bit comforting" John said,
"My entire function isn't about subscribing to your feelings! You're a fucking captain! Calm yourself down!" Edna shouted.
"You're right, you're entirely right.."
At that moment, John got up and left the room with his research, he had all kinds of research on different platforms, he has ancient paper books, modern Micro-Platform laser projectors and portable information devices, he wanted to stock up on any kind of information he can muster.
