oscar and mr. Snuffleupagus!

CHAPTER 2.

in this chapter you will find info about Oscar the grouch and (wait for it wait for it) MR.
Oscar The Grouch

Oscar is a furry green grouch who lives in a trash can between 123 sesame street and big birds nest. Oscar loves trash so much he is rarely seen with more then three body parts outside his trash can. Oscars trademark song is "I LOVE TRASH".

like all grouches Oscars mission in life is to be as irritable as possible. when visitors knock on his can he greets them with a snarl and a "SCRAM!!". he doesn't like to be left alone though because then there's no one to complain to.

Oscar has had many pets but his closest companion is his worm Slimey. he also has a girlfriend.

his family includes his granny grouch, his grandpa, hi mom, HIS DAD, his brother ernest, his sister bunny and his niece Irvine

the character Oscar was inspirer by a nasty waiter who worked at a place called Oscars tavern.

the waiter was so nasty that Jim Henson thought why not make a character based on him. then came the name problem the grouch puppet was then called Oscar because of Oscar's Tavern.

the original Oscar design was purple. but then when the puppet was built they decided to make him orange. about a month after sesame street started taping they decided that the cameras couldn't capture the color correctly. so Jim Henson tore apart the original puppet and made him green. on the following episode Oscar explained that he went to visit his brother In swamp mushy muddy and that all the swamp chemicals and stuff turned him green over night.

Oscars first line was in the first episode when he snarled "Don't bang on my can! Go away!"

Oscar has many forms of transportation he can stick his legs out of the can and walk, he also has Bruno the Trash Man carry his trash can with him inside, sometimes (but very rarely) he will just get out of his trash can and walk. Oscar has a car he calls the Sloppy Jalopy. Oscar has also been seen driving an old taxi.

in sesame streets early years young viewers sent gifts of trash (including USED tissues gross!)

Oscar claims to have a cell phone in one episode.

Oscar loves anchovy milkshakes but he dislikes that he likes them.

MR. SNUFFLEUPAGUS.

Mr. Aloysius Snuffleupagus is a snuffleupagus who lives with his family in a cave on sesame street.

the adults deemed him imaginary because they thought he was just a figment of big birds imagination.

he enjoys spaghetti, cabbage and sassafras tea. he has a sister named Alice.

episode 0276 was snuffys first episode when he meant "bird'

a lot of near miss encounters kept he adults and other human characters from seeing snuffy.

snuffy became a real part of the cast for two reasons. one the writers were running out of new ways for snuffy to just miss the humans. two because they thought since the adults refused to belive snuffy was real it would discourage them for telling their parent about important things.

It takes two people to perform snuffy.

during his first few years on sesame street he spoke with a sad sounding voice. later the sad tone of voice was dropped and he became more happy sounding. also he would answer questions with statements that didn't make sense. such as in the closing of his premiere episode big bird asked "where did you go?" and he replied "I suppose so." (to me this makes perfect sense.)

(snuffys parents are divorced. weird but true)

the snuffy puppet is so big it can't fit in storage with the other puppets so they cover it with a pink blanket and hang it from the ceiling until it's needed.
