With a huge yawn and rubbing at tired eyes, young eighteen year old Shadow just about tumbled from bed as she once again found herself at the edge of it, much tossing from another night of brutal nightmares. Stretching like a cat, she swung her legs off the mattress and padded gracefully toward the bathroom, in her star decorated pyjama bottoms and favourite Evanescence t-shirt. Stepping before her full length mirror, the young teen tugged at the tussled mess that happened to be her pretty auburn hair, jade eyes exhausted, pale skin lacking that healthy glow.
"I really need to stop eating pizza before bed..."
Shadow grumbled to herself, making her way toward the electric shower and flicking the switch that brought it to life, she stripped and stepped beneath the wonderful hot spurts of wet heat, nearly groaning in pleasure, as the steamy water washed away the last dregs of the night.
Though Shadow was her real name, only a select few were aware of that, having changed it to Shimaen when she moved to Forks, in a desperate move to stop her step-father tracking her down, thankfully it had worked so far, as she had managed to go two years without a sight or sound from Tobias, but he could be a patient man and for all Shadow knew, the crazy son of a bitch was simply biding his time, just waiting for her and sadly Shadow knew no amount of dying her hair from white to brown or changing her name would stop him from finding her, or hurting her again. Blotting out the depressing thoughts she was having, she climbed from the shower and wrapping a towel around her body and hair, Shadow drifted out and over into the kitchen, her mouth just about salivating at the thought of coffee, and not just any coffee, Nescafe Gold Blend, hmmm yum!
Filling the kettle she sat it down on the stove and waited for it to boil while she watched the morning reports, saddened to see another had fallen victim to a supposed bear attack, but she had her suspicions, just as her friends, the Cullen's did.
Ah, the Cullen's, what an interesting bunch, Edward with his messy russet brown hair and a face that looked as if it were carved by Angel's, Emmett with his big toned bulk and even bigger sense of humour, Jasper with his gentle nature, southern twang and the often sour face, though it wasn't his fault, Esme with her sweet and caring nature, Rosalie with her natural bitchiness and style, Alice with her unforgetfull bubbly nature and finally last but most definitely not least considering he entered her naughty fantasies more often then Shadow could count was the beautiful Carlisle, master of the house and an all round God in her opinion.
It always left her throbbing with need when she saw Carlisle; hell if she even thought about him Shadow nearly had a party in her pants, who could blame her? The man was a walking orgasm!
Shaking her head, munching on a bowl of dry cereal, Weetos to be exact, Shadow tried desperately to push her sexual notions from her usually clean mind, telling herself she needed to get a grip, for it would never be!
She was too young for starters and the man was married, and would be to Esme for eternity as that man was a Vampire.
Esme, she had taking a disliking to her in the last while and Shadow reckoned it was possibly the green-eyed monster cropping up on her, which irritated her, she had never in her life been jealous of anyone and she certainly wasn't going to be jealous of Esme, after all if it came down to it, she was far more attractive then silly old Esme.
Squashing down her petty jealousy, Shadow grabbed a mug from the press and dumping coffee into it, made her way toward the bedroom, to get dressed for her work experience in the hospital.

It was a nice day in Forks, nice meaning it just wasn't raining, a grey cloudiness covering the sky, which was just fine with Carlisle. The last thing he needed was his skin to start glistening like diamonds in the sun-light, people would ask questions.
Pulling into the hospital car-park, switching off the ignition, the blonde-haired vampire made his way up toward the hospital automatic doors, greeting Virgil one of the many ambulance drivers they had on-call and went straight for his office, dawning his white coat and heading out into the madness. You had your regulars on a Monday morning, Joe Allen from just down the street, who if he belched wrong would be in, in a panic thinking he was going to die.
You had Mrs. Anderson who had an allergy for certain food colourings in chocolate, and despite knowing that she ended up there occasionally to have her stomach pumped.
Then you had fifty-three year old Max Green, who, despite knowing he had severe diabetes, still went out drinking himself stupid every night, ate food from fast food places and down-right refused to take his medication, which meant for the last three years Carlisle had the joy of seeing him nearly every week, but this time it seemed he had gone to far, because according to a change in his chart made by one of the Nurses, Max was now comatose.
Rifling through his file, he let out an aggravated sigh, not understanding why humans needed to cause such harm to them-selves.
Hearing a few wolf-whistles coming from a drunken patient on a gurney Carlisle lifted his golden coloured eyes to only have his jaw nearly drop, he had forgotten she'd be here today. He watched as Shadow made her way down the hall in an intern's scrubs, the green cloth hugging her body perfectly and he cursed himself when he began mentally undressing her.
Taking his attention off her he dropped his gaze to his charts, seeing if he had any new patients to deal with today and was glad that nobody new had arrived on his, not out of badness, it was just a good thing when humans stayed healthy.
"Hello Carlisle..."
Hearing her voice made him jump a little and composing himself Carlisle turned smiling merrily.
"Well hello Shimaen..." He beamed, using the name she used in public, though he knew her real name, "I almost forgot you would be here today...Well let's get started..."
He steered her in the direction of the A and E.
"Right, we have a girl here who fell off her bike at a wrong angle and she may have broken a bone in her foot..."
"Do we have to do an x-ray...?"
"Not yet, I want to get a look at it first to see if she has actually broken it..."
Whipping back a curtain, Shadow's eyes fell upon a sobbing child of about eight, with long red hair, pale white skin and big blue eyes that were currently swimming with tears.
"Hello Alisha..." Carlisle said softly, "I am D.r. Cullen and I'm just going to take a look at your foot okay...?"
"Will it hurt...?" Alisha squeaked, cringing away, cuddling against her mother.
"It might, but for only a second...Okay...?"
After a few minutes of her mother having to convince her, Alisha let Carlisle check her foot, weak whimpers from Alisha as a result, as Carlisle ran his hands over it pressing down here and there.
Finally,
"I don't believe it's broken, the swelling is minor and it certainly doesn't feel like anything's damaged to badly. I think your daughter may have some ligament damage Mrs. Smyth, and further testing will confirm that..."
My God, he was sooo sexy when he worked, Shadow thought as she watched him, she could barely stand it.

The day went on pretty much like that, working their way through several in the A and E and then going on rounds while Carlisle checked over his patients.
She almost cried when Max's machine was turned off and the middle-aged man slipped off into the realm of death and it made Shadow wonder how he did it everyday, it obviously did have some effect though, because the minute Max flat-lined and there was nothing more they could do, Carlisle released a colourful oath and stormed from the room heading for his office.
Shadow sprinted down the corridor after him and into his office, finding him braced over his desk.
"Are you alright...?"
She asked softly, closing the door behind her.
"I'll be fine..."
He answered the raw emotion in his voice quite noticeable.
With pity in her heart, she stepped toward him, resting a hand gently on his shoulder. He tensed slightly and then relaxed, turning his eyes on her, they were now round and black as if today's events had completely drained him of everything.
"Carlisle..."
"Sssssh..." He pulled her to him, "Don't speak..."
And suddenly he was kissing her, with raw burning passion, slamming her up against the door and locking it, grateful the blinds were down. Somewhere deep down in the back of both their minds, the two knew they shouldn't, but sometimes denying the heart was denying your true happiness, ravaged now Shadow tore the white coat off him, loosing her hands in his soft blonde hair, drowning in the fury of the kiss, wanting so much to devour him. His graceful fingers fumbled over the buttons of her nursing blouse, but within seconds he had it off and her breasts free, fondling her nipples.
Shadow's sharp in take of breath only excited him further, but she was far from allowing him have all the fun.
Pushing him back with strength he didn't realise she had, he watched as she seductively swayed her hips and removed her scrub pants, standing there in just a lacy black thong. Sauntering up to Carlisle, Shadow played her fingers over the buttons of his shirt, opening them slowly and pulling the blue silk off him so she could explore his firm muscled chest with vigorous delight.
All he could do was watch her, trembling with relentless need as she teased him mercilessly and finally no longer able to take it when Shadow had him stripped bare, of his clothing and control Carlisle forced her onto his desk, ripped off the flimsy fabric that was her underwear and with one stroke plunged inside her, muffling her cries with a kiss.
Shadow wrapped her legs around his waist, grunting as quietly as she could as he thrusted in and out, with quick almost painful movements.
She gasped, moving with him, cutting her nails into his back, as the two mated and finally when they both reached their peak, the let go together....
