"Master Lucian?" Albert said as he entered my room. "Master Lucian you can't sleep in any longer." Albert went to the curtains and pushed them wide open. "You have many things to do. It's a big day. Your big day, my lord."
"Ugh" I groaned as I pushed the blanket. "Yes yes I know Albert." I sighed. "I didn't sleep in too late, did I?"
"No sir. You brother told me to wake you up early."
"Erick that ass." I chuckled. "Alright well I'm up. Please go tell my brother while I get dress."
"Yes sir." Albert bowed and then walked out of my room, shutting the door behind him.
I stood up and pulled a few cloths out of my wardrobe. I pulled on a pair of trousers and began to button up a white shirt. I looked in the mirror as I did. "Today's the day." I said happily. "I'm no longer a child." I grab my boots and pull them on and tighten them. I left my chamber and walked down the stairs to the dinning room. My father was already at the table when I entered the room.
"Ah Lucian!" He said happily.
"Father? You're eating breakfast with us today?"
"It's my boys big day. I thought I should be the first to congratulate you."
"It's just unusual to see you here sir. Usually you're too busy." I said as I sat at the table.
"My boy becomes a man today. I wanted to have one more moment with you today, as my boy, before you become that man." He smiled. "Today you will become the general of the Sulvan armies. I'm planning to have a grand ball to celebrate your rise to your new station."
"That's not really needed father." I laughed. "It's just general. It's not like I'm being crowned as King."
"No you aren't. That will be for you brother when I die. But you are my son and you are no longer a child. That's what I wish to celebrate really." He smiled as he put a fork full of a bite in his mouth.
"Nice to see you're awake." My little sister said as she entered the dinning room and sat in the chair behind me. "It's a big day." She said happily.
"The leaders of many kingdoms are coming tonight. All in your honor." My older brother said as he followed my sister and sat at the other side of the table, opposite of me. "It is an event you must attend Lucian."
"I know. I will be there. I promise." I sighed.
"You better. I don't want to have to spend my time looking for you while the musicians play away." My sister said.
"Allison, my dear, this ball is also somewhat for your benefit." Father said to my sister.
"What? What'd you mean for my benefit?" My sister said surprised.
"Almost all nobility of our land will be here tonight, along with the leaders and nobility of the other lands. I believe this would be a perfect time to find a suitor for you." Father looked at my brother. "That goes for you as well Erick."
"What about Lucian?" Allison laughed.
"He is in a position where marriage isn't a need for him. Unlike you two. Erick you need a queen when I pass the crown to you and Allison you need a husband because you are my daughter and It'd make the kingdom look stubborn and unwilling if you didn't marry, or at least it'd make me look stubborn."
"Looks like you did get lucky with a few things brothers." Erick laughed.
We all finished are breakfast and then I went to the library. It was the only quite place in the palace and the only place where father wasn't going to look for me if he wanted me. He refuses to enter the library since mother died. It use to be here favorite place in the palace. I believe her memory still hurts him.
