Hi guys! I know, this chapter is so late. I AM SO SORRY. School's super been hectic! I'm sorry, but I can't have an updating schedule anymore. I rarely have time to write anymore !:( -Joann

Ps Don't worry, I won't stop writing, it'll just be kind of slow. And the pic is the "leader" of the elleth group

Pss I know its short! Next one will be longer!

My boots made a familiar clicking noise as I walked through the great halls of Valinor, Maethel at my side. We had finally reached Valinor. A welcome banquet was happening tonight, where Valinorians challenged Mirkwoodians to fights.

"We have rooms next to each other! Perfect!" Mae grinned, hefting her valise higher.

A trio of noble elleths came giggling down the hall.

"Did you see those Mirkwoodians?" one with a silk purple dress asked.

"I know, right? Like, two of them were officers!" another with a creamy beige dress drawled.

"Elleths can't fight! They know that, right?" the last one laughed, tossing her smooth, light amber-brown hair.

I felt the old determination bubbling up inside me, the kind I felt when I was a child, and all the officers except Maethel laughed at me for training.

Next to me, Maethel had gone rigid with fury. Normally, her face had an authoritive feel to it, an intimidating, yet strangely pretty face. But when she was angry, her face took on an undescribably frightening look.

She coughed loudly. "AHEM!"

The group of elleths stopped their mindless blabber, looking up at us.

Shock, then fear crossed their faces. Their "leader", the one in the cream beige dress recovered amazingly quickly, a sneer crossing her face. She sashayed toward us menacingly and stopped a few feet in front of us.

"How dare you?" she scowled, glaring at us. She had wavy brown hair and a thin silk band held back her wavy hair. Her dark brown eyes were cold and piercing.

We said nothing, merely glaring back at her.

"Bow, you peasants," she barked at us. "Bow."

Maethel walked to her, standing intimidatingly close to the leader. Mae was a good half foot taller than the leader, and the elleth took a step back.

"Who are you to question me?" she glared at Mae, putting her hands on her hips.

"Me? I am Colonel Maethel of the Mirkwoodian army," she growled, tapping the number of gold leaves on her shoulder.

The girl laughed desirively. "Oh, ha ha. Like you could ever beat my brother."

"I could. Tonight, there will be fighting matches to test our skill. Tell your brother to challenge me. If he dares," Maethel taunted. "But if his strength matches your politeness, then I'm afraid that I could defeat him with a pillow."

She flipped her hair letting out a 'Huh!'. "Tonight," she said. "And by the way, peasant, I'm Lady Calenda, daughter of Lord Corahere, one of the king's advisors."

"And I'm Colonel Maethel, best friends with the King's future daughter in law," Mae smirked. "See you tonight."
