-Jewl's POV-
I glanced around to see if anyone was watching and crossed my legs sitting down on the grass. It tickled my legs and I put my hands on the ground. I felt all of it. I could feel where the worms were, where the roots of the trees ended, where it became rock and where animals burrowed.
I focused and opened my eyes. The ground shook slightly. The ground cracked open and a big rock came up from it. Then the ground closed and there was just a boulder on the ground. I walked over to it and sat down.
When I was little I remembered thinking it was a gift of god. Of course, I also thought that I could swim in the dirt and get away with it when I told my parents I was training to be a pig. The boulder was cold under my touch and the cold autumn air whipped my hair across my face.
It was weird and sometimes scary when I felt the whole forest. When I was little I used to have trouble tuning out the feelings of the forest. I could feel every leaf fall off of me, every bug crawling, and my least favorite the animals dying. Needless to say, I'm a vegetarian. My parents got me a therapist, and though they thought it was working, it was just me training my senses.
I never dared to show my parents, though. I was scared they disown me. Now I lived on my own. I didn't go to college but planned to. I was still saving by working at a cafe. Most of my free time was spent in the forest. I loved the feeling of using my powers though it was sometimes draining. I wish I could talk to animals.
-Miral's POV-
I sat on my towel watching the sunset. I watched as the water rippled and it was if it was brushing against my skin. I welcomed the familiar feeling and tapped into my senses. I could hear the fishes heartbeats and the soft breathing of a whale far in the distance.
I plunged my feet into the sand and let it trickle through my toes. I loved the beach. It made me feel like a little kid again. I wasn't a little kid, though. I was a now twenty-year-old who was engaged to someone I loved with all my heart. I was so lucky.
However, I was sad. I wanted to tell him about my powers or abilities....whatever you want to call them. Before though everyone had run off thinking I was so witch. To be fair I was scared of what my powers could do. If I ever let them get out of control. Though normally I was pretty calm sometimes something in my just snaps.
The sun was already down and I was surrounded by darkness. I let the waves pick up a bit and stood up. Shaking all the sand from the towel I made my way back to my car.
-Brendan's POV-
I looked over the cliff. To most it probably looks like I'm about to jump, and I am,but I'm not suicidal. I jumped off the cliff I felt the air rush my and all the particles seemed to tickle my skin. I focused on bringing myself to a stop and two hundred feet above the ground I stopped. I could see the whole forest from where I was. I could even see a road from down the road.
I glided down so I was just above the trees. The air felt good against my skin like always. The leaves tickled my feet and I couldn't help but laugh. Though it was just lost in the wind. I came to a complete stop and laid back. I don't know how it feels to lay on air. It's just nice.
I felt something tickle my arm and opened my eyes. It was starting to sprinkle. The ashy colored clouds passed over the sun and everything was dark for a moment. I knew I should get back to my dorm, but sometimes it was so hard to land and come back to reality.
Taking a deep breath I floated to the ground and grabbed the grass with my toes. I always felt light headed when I landed. I blinked a couple times before stumbling back to my car.
-Samuel's POV-
I stared into the campfire. The flames seemed to lick out at me. People were chatting about colleges and alcohol, but they seemed to be in some whole different universe. I tried holding back the itching sense and tapped my foot quickly against the sand. I kept on tapping it fast until someone grabbed my arm.
"Dude, you okay?" some drunk person asked.
"Needawalk," I quickly blurted out and stood up from the log I was sitting on. I walked along the beach if you could call it that. There was a waterfall and a pond type thing that my friends and I always had campfires by. When I was younger I could control my powers easily, but now it felt like I was suffocating when I didn't use them.
I was in the woods and plunged my hands into the dirt. I let my hands sizzle and smoke. I could feel the fire dying to get out. "Yo, man-WHAT THE FUCK JU-"
"Oh god fire!" I screamed trying to act quickly as an actual small flame started on the ground. I stomped it out with my shoe. My shoe was sizzling so I pretended like it hurt before hobbling down to the lake.
"Man, how did you do that? Your hands, they sizzled, and....and the fire!" he exclaimed throwing his hand up while following me. I was now knee deep in the water and I was trying to clean soot off my hands.
"I don't know what you're on about? But I just burned my foot and hands so if you could get me some ice that would be good," I suggested.
"You don't seem to be in pain. Plus, your hands aren't even bleeding or burnt," he pointed out. I was screwed. No one was supposed to find out about my secret. Last time.....oh last time....
