Chapter 6

Beckett was watching TV on the couch, praying that her aspirin would kick in soon. It was 10 PM, and she still hadn't stopped thinking about Rick. They had texted each other all day, asking pointless questions about the other., but she didn't care. She loved it. She was in her sweats and a tight cami when someone knocked at the door. Who could it be?

She stalked over to the door and undid the latch, opening the door gently. It took her a while to comprehend, but there he was. Rick standing right in front of her, at her house. "Good evening, Detective Beckett." He greeted. He looked her up and down, smiling. She suddenly felt to underdressed for him to see. Her eyes widened. He laughed.

"How did you find my house?" She asked, gawking at him.

"I have my resources." He said facetiously, entering her house and gazing at her possessions. "Why are you here?" She asked, still staring at him. "My, Detective, you are a woman of many question."

"But-"

"Let's have a little fun. Go put on something a little...warmer." He commanded. She had no idea what he was doing, but she shrugged and went along with it. After all she did say she wanted to live in the moment. She trotted to her room, stripping of her lazy day clothes and putting on a red turtleneck sweater, black suit pants, and a long black trench coat. After she had done some digging around she found a pair of wool-boots that she slipped on with ease. She topped off her outfit with a grey beanie that fit her head perfectly.

When she walked out from her bedroom, Rick eyes her up and down, biting his lip. Beckett found this so hot, and she struggled with not throwing herself on top of him.

"Shall we?" He asked, holding his arm out for her. "We shall." She answered linking her arm with his and leaning herself into him. He smelled like a fancy cologne, not too much, not too little, but just enough to make her swoon. She smiled to herself. After all these years, something good finally happens to her. He was her ray of sunshine in a lifetime of darkness. It was like a flower blooming after light years of rain. He may look like a ruggedly handsome, rich, stuck-up writer on the outside, but really, he wasn't. He was her angel. Her angel that god had sent to make her life worth living. In this moment she felt something she hadn't felt in a long, long time. She felt truly blessed.
