The Patriot

I am no patriot by birth

I wear no sword or uniform

But I know the truth

When shown to me

Our freedom came

From the men at Normandy

The lives they gave

Helped save the world

But their sacrifice was not for free

If not for them

We'd disappear

Spied on and lied to

By those who'd rule with fear

We know these truths

Are self-evident

From Omaha Beach

To Afghanistan

But when the walls begin to crack

Stand by your neighbor

Be sure to guard his back
