Chapter Two.

Mia sits in the airport terminal, trying not to grow impatient. She didn't understand why this 'Joshua' man was flying in a week and a half before the wedding. But, she didn't mutter a complaint to Janie and Rick. Instead, she went home yesterday and cleaned her house from the bottom up. She set up blankets and pillows on the couch, trying to make her small apartment as comfortable as possible.

Rick had given Mia a brief description of Joshua; short brown hair that is usually messy, fairly tall, a very prominent jaw line. He said that he described Mia to Joshua as well. But still, Mia is worried that she is going to do something wrong and ruin Janie's wedding.

As people start to come through the doors, heading off of the plane, Mia keeps her eyes peeled. Many people walk past her, not paying her any attention. But, then a fairly tall man walks through the door, searching through the crowd of people in the terminal. He was a lot bigger than Rick had let on. He wears jeans and a tight black sweater. And, through the sweater, Mia could see muscles rippling through him.

"Are you Joshua?" She speaks up, trying to stand tall and be confident. This was all merely professional, so she needs to act it.

"You must be Mia," He smiles at her. The crooked, charming smile does not go unnoticed. "Rick didn't tell me that you were this good looking," He comments, his eyes moving all over her body.

She suddenly feels very exposed in her shorts and loose blouse. Her cheeks redden, but she doesn't back down.

"Well, that would make sense, since he's my client," She remarks, leading the way out of the terminal. He lets out a chuckle before he catches up with her.

"A 'client', huh?" He smirks, "My brother is more sneaky than I give him credit for," He comments.

Anger rises up in Mia's chest and she takes a deep breath. She ignores his immature comment as she walks beside him to the baggage claim.

"So, how exactly do you know my brother?" Joshua asks as they watch the machine make it's endless rounds, waiting for his luggage.

Mia forces herself to get over her anger, and to be polite to the man that is going to be staying with her for awhile. Why make things worse than they need to be.

"I'm their wedding planner," She explains curtly, folding her arms over her chest and tapping her clean white Keds on the floor, impatiently.

"If you're just their wedding planner, then why are you playing inn-keeper?" He asks, as he picks up a large black suitcase from the revolving machine.

Mia doesn't waste time sitting around. She sets off for the parking ramp, leaving Joshua running after her once more.

"Because as their wedding planner, it's my job to make sure that everything is perfect for their wedding. If that means babysitting for a week, then so be it," She explains, speaking very sharply with him. Out of the corner of her eye, she watches him roll his eyes.

"Seems like a pretty crappy job to me," He mutters, holding open the door for her. She doesn't thank him, like she usually would. Instead she fishes in her small purse for the keys to her car.

"Well, good thing you're not getting paid to do it then, huh?" She remarks, walking in a brisk pace.

As they make their way through the dim parking ramp, Mia gets paranoid while passing shady-looking people. She grips her car key tightly in her hand, ready to use it as a weapon, if necessary.

"Hey, baby! You wanna go play tonsil-hockey in the back of my truck?" A man calls out to her, holding up his sagged pants. Mia, although her pulse quickened significantly, just holds her breath as she spots her black car.
