If. A word that holds so many possibilities, yet is based solely on one's fantasy. . .or nightmare.

For Janet Jackson, it was both.

It's 1993, and everything is falling into place for the successful actress after starring in a blockbuster hit and becoming a newly wed. But her perfect world comes crashing down when she is faced with the news that a particular pop star has disappeared and possibly been murdered. The worst part?

She's the main suspect.

Desperate to prove she is far from guilty, Janet will force herself to dig up past skeletons. While doing so, she will venture back to the pinnacle of the 80s where her risqué flame with the "deceased" artist first ignited. Through a series of flashbacks and events, Janet will recount every "if" that became her reality.

From there, she will have to prove her innocence. . .

That is, if she was ever innocent to begin with.
