I stare at the grey, cracked, paint peeling, ceiling of my cell. My mind is racing with thoughts just the same as the other 29 days I've been in here. 29 days since my life changed. My life, just like all lives, has been one big battle. Hit after hit I've taken it. Punch after punch I've sucked up the pain. Until I meant Carl. Carl is like a safe haven during a war or a time out during a boxing match. He takes you away from your problems; tries to make you forget. I tried to forget with him and I thought with him I could forget. I soon realized the sad reality was I'll never forget. Scars are forever; you can't forget. You can try to heal your scars but you can't. Scars can only fade never heal. I thought I was fighting back but I was really never back in the ring. And as soon as I got back in the ring and I immediately got knocked out. Carl Gallagher knocked me out.

"Williams.", a pudgy Mexican guard says interrupting my thoughts and unlocking my cell. "You're out."

"It's about damn time."
