I didn't sleep well that night. I was mostly awake, thinking of what could happen if this world, my world, wasn't like it is. I thought that everyone had the chance to live as much as they wanted. It turned out it wasn't exactly like that. People have limits. They need limits. Our world would be a chaos if everyone could do whatever came to their minds. I know I would probably not be here saying this if I could choose what I wanted to do. Sometimes I feel that our system isn't democratic. That no one can choose their destiny, but what do I know? I am just a fourteen year old girl who doesn't know what to do. Everything I do is complain about things not being like I would want them to be. Everyone does that. Judge things without knowing what could happen. Our world isn't an easy place. Thirteen sectors, each one representing a sign. Thirteen. What could happen if one of the sectors didn't do what is told? The whole system would collapse and we wouldn't survive one day. Each sector has an obligation, even if it's supposed to be a free system. Aries does security duty. Taurus ensures that industry goes on. Gemini makes creativity take its place. Cancer is composed by animal farmers. Leo takes over any kind of activity or entertainment. Virgo cultivates crops of food. Libra makes sure justice is made. Scorpio goes hunting and sells the meat. Sagittarius tries to understand everything that happens: they are the scientists of our system. Capricorn is in charge of education. Aquarius has libraries. Pisces work in churches. Finally, sector Ophiuchus is the government. It represents unity. Without him, all the sectors would hate each other and everything would come to an end, he makes sure all the sectors do what is asked. He also makes the rules. Our world is fair. Each sector has a duty and each person accomplishes it.

To know in which sector you are going to live, there are dates assigned to each house. It depends on when you are born. You live with your families until you are twelve years old and then, you get to join your sector. Since I was separated from my twin sister, her being born a few hours after me, on a different day, and so separating us in different sectors, everything has been darker. She was always happy and making jokes. Now she lives with the scientists in a foster family. We barely see each other. Sometimes she comes to the shop and we can talk, but its been two years and I really miss her. I also haven't seen my parents a lot, since they live with sector Libra. When someone marries another person, they have to choose in which sector they'll live. Its a very difficult choice that's why most of the couples are always from the same sector. My family is an exception. My dad was from the Scorpio sector. He chose to leave for my mom. I know that he misses going to the woods and hunting, but I know that he also likes his life in Libra. My dad taught me some tricks for hunting. I use traps and I have my own weapons. Of course we cannot use them in the city so we always keep them in the forest. In a little house we call the HuntHouse. I enjoy going away from the city. Everyday all children go to mixed schools until midday then we all go do our tasks. In Aries, children learn to use weapons such as guns and knifes. In Taurus, they mostly do clothes and accesories. In Gemini they go to special classes of art and theater some also have roles in some acts. Children from Cancer help take care of the animals: they feed them, bath them and some can even help taking the milk from goats and cows. In Leo,. Virgos help cultivating, the strongest help carrying flour bags to the market. Libra children learn laws and some punishments for criminals. In my sector, Scorpio, children start to hunt with small weapons such as bows and spears close to the limits of the forest. Sagittarius start with the basics of science like the space and biology. Most Capricorn child start to learn to teach. Aquarius help in libraries and some learn litterature to write. Pisces learn the culture of our world and the religion. They also learn some roles in the churches.

I got up and started to walk toward the freezer. I opened it and took a vanilla ice cream. I got a spoon and went back to my room. I spent my whole night eating ice cream. It was 5 AM when I put it down and went to sleep. When I woke up it was already 10 and at 10:15 it was my shift at the store. I ran toward the closet and took my shop uniform. A red t-shirt and black shorts. I put them fast and ran to the kitchen, I took a bottle of milk and a note my foster family left.
