This Future Cast

The World's Ambition

10 hours earlier...

I sit in my cell in complete silence. I look at the four walls that have trapped me here for a total of 2 years. For some reason they believe that I am the one causing these horrible events, however I am just the one unlucky enough to have the powers of a Seer.

The little door opens to reveal my cold dinner peeping through. "Eat up! It's your shower night." someone says from the other side. I get up and grab my food. I chomp it down in 2 minutes and shove the empty tray through the crack under the door. I hear the door unlock and I see it begin to open. I turn around with my hands behind my back so that they may put the seemingly necessary handcuffs upon my hands.

They don't blindfold me, which I find odd, but I think better of mentioning the mistake. As the man leads me through the winding halls I find myself curious of the building that I have seen none of, yet have still lived in for 2 years. When we reach the showering area, I turn around so that my hands may be unleashed. I hear the click about the same time that I feel the release of pressure. I begin to strip my disgusting clothing from my grimy body. I step into the shower and begin to clean myself.

I hear a loud Thump behind me and I turn around, curious to know what made the sound. I find my guard, rendered unconscious, on the floor with a man covered in black towering over him. He takes one look at me and he begins to approach. I turn to run, but he is faster and he catches me before I can even make it three steps. He holds a damp cloth to my nose and mouth and I feel myself fading. Before I can completely black out, I feel a bag slipped over my head.

When I come to I can feel myself moving. I can't see anything, but I know that it is the vehicle that is moving, not me. I can see a faint light through the bag on my head. In front of me I can hear multiple men talking in a language that I do not understand.

"Is the bag truly necessary?" I inquire. The talking stops and someone walks up to me and roughly removes the bag. Following are the complaints of the other men.

"Thank you." I say when I have received enough 'fresh' air.

"Don't mention it." The other men grumble.

I hear a ringing and then a BOOM as I fly through the air, thrown out of the vehicle. I hear the wind passing by my ears alarmingly fast, when I look down to find that I am about to hit the ground. I slam into a tree, and black out from the pain.

When I awake I find myself in a dense forest. I attempt to get up, with that being a failing attempt. I hear branches crack'ing under people's feet accompanied by voices of several people heading towards me. I can feel the adrenaline pumping through my veins. With that I get up and start to run, attempting to ignore the blood coming out of my leg. All that I can do is hope that these aren't the people who bombed the vehicle, only I have a bad feeling that they are. If these people are willing to kill so many people for what they want, then the world is in more trouble than I anticipated.
