Morning is when the children awake
With bushy tails and ready for some hot cakes
They dance and play and scrunch their noses
Loving life and smelling roses
They have no reason to be unhappy
Besides maybe getting their teeth stuck in taffy
They play until they get tired, and then they play some more
By evening they have big, sloppy snores
Afternoon is when the teens wake up
Probably complaining about their last breakup
They lay in bed scrolling and texting
While picking bored at their nose ring
They roll their eyes, are lazy, and groan
Seeming to be glued to their phone
When they're twenty they'll go back to normal
But as of right now they're still awful
The adults wake early and come home late
Tired and grumpy and feeling not so great
Work was hard, and now they have to make some food
I guess you could say that they're not in the mood
They put the kids to bed
'Invade' their teens privacy by offering them some garlic bread
Finally, the house is dark and still
They lock the doors and leap into sleep with no time to kill
Dusk is when the scum comes out to play
With no care of keeping their party music at bay
With glassy eyes and drinks lifted high
They cheer to another year closer until they die
Sweaty bodies dance as one
Is this really what they call fun?
The rock n roll thunders on
They don't stop until they're all passed out at dawn
Another day, another beginning
Some of us use it for living, while others sinning
Every sunrise and sunset can be the same
It's up to you to make the change
