"Hey, Seraphina. Wait up" calls my best friend Rowan. "A gentleman walks his lady friend to school. He does not risk her safety to
vagabonds." His green eyes glint with mirth.
"What have I told you Rowan,call me Sera" I yell back at him.
"Yeah I know,but you're so cute when your mad." He teases me.
I stop in my tracks,waiting for him to catch up. Once he finally reaches me,I smack him upside the head. "Seriously man,I am not cute."
"Of course not,Your Majesty" He dips into an exaggerated bow. I roll my eyes at his nickname for me. He had been calling me that since I met him when we were 5. I pull my skateboard out of my backpack. I glance at Rowan and smile. As though he had read my mind,his board is already in hand.
"Race you!"I call,looking back over my shoulder as I take off,speeding down the narrow sidewalks. I pull up to the brick school,moments before Rowan does. Smiling I run up the stairs to the huge entrance doors. A long day is ahead of me. It's the last week of school which means tests and more tests. Soon though the last day of school will be here and then,SUMMER! With that thought I walk into the imposing halls of my high school.
