Liz and I walked for a decent twenty minutes to the DWMA. We were early seeing as there was practically no one outside or any where near the school. We stepped inside the large building and examined the room. Streamers and balloons were strung up every where and four large buffet tables were stretched around, covered in drinks and food. I finally just realised that the whole time Patty hadn't been with us. "Where's Patty?!" I asked a little worried. "She's with the guys," Liz replied popping a chip into her mouth from the buffet table. I nodded and turned my thoughts to other things. Important things. Like Soul....

=Soul's P.O.V=

I glared at Kid as he finally stopped freaking out about how un-symmetrical his suit was. After leaving the house in the morning, I was dragged by Blackstar into his house and got a suit shoved in my face. Id spent the whole day watching movies with Kid and Blackstar until they both wrestled me into a black suit. "This plan is perfect like me," Blackstar bragged. "Yes I agree," Kid said nodding "Maka will fall head over heels for you." I blushed at the thought of her and scoffed at them. "And why do you think she'll do that? I'm her partner. She wouldn't want anything more from me than our friendship." "Be more positive!" Blackstar yelled in my ear. "Easy for you to say" I yelled back "Tsubaki is gentle. Maka would kick my ass if I did anything wrong!" Kid laughed and Blackstar smirked. "Well don't do anything wrong then," Kid said crossing his arms over his chest. I checked the clock and noticed we had better get going. "Come on," I said lazily. "Were walking." "Of course the all mighty Blackstar will walk faster than any one else!" Blackstar cheered in response. Kid shook his head and went out the door. We followed behind and made our way to the DWMA. By the time we got there, the whole place was alive and buzzing with students. Some were dancing, others were standing around talking and one person in particular stood out. The double doors that led out onto the balcony were left wide open and a small figure stood out there in the dark. I could tell it was Maka from the push Kid and Blackstar both gave me in that direction. Holy mother of god, I began chanting in my head. What do I do? Remember play it cool. But you know she doesn't fall for that crap. Yes, perfect a simple smirk and a hey is fine. No it's not you idiot! She'll think you just wanna be friends. I began an inner war inside my head that raged on until I reached the balcony. "Mind if I join 'ya?" I said trying to sound confident. Yes, perfect Soul good work! I praised myself feeling a little relieved that I hadn't acted like a complete idiot yet. She turned around and smiled the cutest grin I could of possibly imagined. Thats when I completely became lost for words and nearly fell over. She's just a girl! I screamed at myself. Yeah but not just any girl, this is Maka Albarn the strong, beautiful, brave girl you're in love with. Her hair was done in a pretty bun that suited her and her face was lightly done with make up. Good, girls who wore too much make up looked like clowns. What caught my eye the most was the dress. It was so..so...hot. It showed off her great legs that would make any guy go crazy and her chest seemed bigger. Shut up you pervert, my rational side of my brain said. "Hey Soul, how 'ya 'doin?" She asked casually. "Y..yeah good," I stuttered, walking forward to place my sweaty hands on the balcony edge. "It's really crowded in there," I said evenly, pointing a finger back at the party. "Yeah, it got too stuffy so I came out here," she said wistfully as she looked up at the sky. She was standing so close to me that our elbows brushed together a few times. The stars seemed to make her fantastic emerald eyes shine only causing me to freak out more. It'll be fine you can do this Soul! I shouted in my mind.

=Maka's P.O.V=

I stood next to Soul on the balcony pretending to act calm. On the inside I was freaking out so badly, I thought I would pass out. Don't be ridiculous, you're Maka Albarn, I encouraged myself. Our elbows kept brushing each others which made me blush. I looked back slightly to find Tsubaki, Liz and Patty watching me. Great, so this is all on show, I thought grumpily. I made eye contact with Liz and she made kissy faces at me. I glared at her and shook my head a tiny bit. She rolled her eyes and kissed Patty's cheek and made a 'duh' face at me. With a jolt of shock I finally understood what she wanted me to do. I turned back to look out at the dark school grounds. My cheeks heated up just at the thought. How the hell am I supposed to kiss Soul Eater Evans?! He's the cool one, he should be kissing me!

=Soul's P.O.V=

I took small glances at the guys in the room behind me they pointed in the direction of Maka and puckered there lips. God, they looked retarded. But I knew what they wanted me to do. I couldn't kiss Maka yet! Could I? No! The night only started. I turned slightly towards her and began to say something at the same time she did. "Sorry, you first," I laughed. She giggled sounding a bit nervous. Nervous? Wait, was that good? "Oh I was just going to say the stars look pretty," she replied quickly. "There's something I have to say," I rushed quickly before I could stop myself. She looked at me with confused eyes. Jeez she was so cute. "I...." I started then stopped, thinking it would be better if I used actions instead of words. I stepped a little closer to her and came so close that our faces were almost touching. Surprising me completely, she leaned her fore head on mine and stared into my eyes. Well here goes nothing, I thought airily or maybe everything.

=Maka's P.O.V=

I decided wether or not I should say something flirty or something witty and intelligent but Soul stepped closer to me. My heart beat quickened as he came so close to my face that I could lightly feel his breath fanning over my mouth. I bit my lip hard to keep from saying something dumb and looked at him. His bright red eyes burned back at me almost as if he was going to... Wait, what?! No he wasn't going to kiss me. He was teasing me. Was he? I became confused so I just rested my fore head on his. Slowely, almost painfully slow, his lips connected with mine. The first thing I thought was how happy I was then those thoughts came crashing around me. The only things that filtered through my mind were soul resonance, friendship and what I would do if my heart got broken. I pulled back quickly and breathed a few deep breaths. Soul looked at me questioningly. There was a mix of confusion and hurt in his eyes that made my stomach cramp. "I'm sorry," I choked out quietly. "I have to go use the rest room." And on that I sped walked to the bathroom, wiping hurriedly at stray tears that started coming out of my eyes.

=Soul's P.O.V=

The only thing I thought as I watched her walk away was that I had just ruined every thing...
