Six woke up in the middle of the night, tears silently rolling down her face. She turned invisible and crept out of bed, cringing slightly when the bed creaked, not wanting to wake anyone up. She slipped out of her room and down the hall of Nines penthouse to the elevator, checking to make sure nobody was awake, and pressed the button for the roof. The tears were still falling, and the longer she stayed the more frequently they fell. This place reminded her of her past, the one thing she needed to forget at the moment. The elevator opened and she stepped inside, and it closed again. The elevator slowly rose, bringing her up to the roof, which shouldn't have taken so long in her opinion considering they were on the floor under it. She stepped outside and was met by a strong gust of wind. She walked over to the edge of the roof and sat down, looking at all the other towering buildings in Chicago. The moon was full, and despite the neon lights below, the sky was filled with stars. She loved coming up here, it helped her clear her mind from the constant danger of the world and forget the past. She felt safe up here, like nothing could hurt her so she lowered her guard, turning visible again. Her tears had dried and for once she felt happy. "Six?" Nine called, causing her to jump. "Nine, what are you doing here? Everyone was asleep when I came up." "Not everyone." Nine said.
