I was walking the streets of Seattle. It was dark and raining and I was barley able to see anything that was in front of me.
I sighed as I turned onto another street, shivering at how cold it had become in the last ten minutes since it started raining.
At the moment, I hated the rain, but it's only because I don't have shelter. I was walking the streets, instead, praying that I wouldn't get sick. But overall I loved the rain. I always found relaxation in listening to the rainfall.
This is why I chose to stop in Seattle. I knew that I wanted to find peace and the rain was definitely going to help me with that.
I was running away, that's all I ever did. I ran away from home when I was seventeen. I found James, who had picked me up and put me back together, but to only break me again. It was cruel and I couldn't forgive myself for giving into someone that easily.
I saw a sign that was light up at the end of the street. It was a sign for somewhere to eat, and as if on cue, my stomach started rumbling. I found myself in front of the store, opening the glass door and walking inside, feeling the warmth come rushing at me.
"Hello pretty lady, what can I get ya?" The old man said from behind the deli case. I smiled over at him, only craving a turkey sandwich.
"Turkey and White American cheese, please." I said to him, and with a quick nod, he started making my sandwich.
I looked around the small store, finding myself a bag of chips to go along with my chips and a bottle of water. He called me over when he was finished and I smiled at him thankfully as I paid for my meal.
"Thank you." I spoke, grabbing my sandwich off the counter. He nodded at me and I sat down at one of the tables, taking a bite of my food right away.
I sighed, leaning back in my chair as I thought about everything. I needed somewhere to stay tonight, but of course, I had no idea where anything was. I just wanted to find a hotel or a motel to stay in for the night and I would look for a job in the morning to help me save for an apartment.
I did have my savings with me and it was a few thousand dollars, but I didn't want to put it all towards rent and leave myself with nothing.
I finished my food and walked back over to the guy who was behind the counter.
"Excuse me, but do you know where the nearest hotel is?" I asked him and he gave me a quick nod.
"It's about three blocks that way," he pointed to the left, "then you make a right and walk down two more blocks and it's on that street there." I nodded my head, thanking him and then walking back out into the rain.
I started making my way towards the hotel. Digging my hands into my hoodie pockets, I looked down and focused on not tripping on anything. But immediately regretted it when I bumped into someone, causing me to fall on my ass.
"Fuck," I muttered as I looked up at the sky, cursing out the Gods. I sighed as I started getting up, but only have an arm grab onto my forearm, helping me in the process of getting up.
I looked at this persons hand and saw the many tattoos that were just along his hand. I started following the tattoos until they they stopped where his jacket had started. But then I followed his arm up, until I came to his exposed neck, seeing the tattoos that were on there as well.
I was certainly interested in this man right away, and so I continued looking up until our eyes connected, causing my heart to beat twenty times faster then usual. His eyes were truly breath-taking. They had every eye color inside of his eyes and I couldn't pull my eyes from his.
