"Run." That's all I seem to know how to do right now. 'In. Out. In. Out.' I say to myself as I push out the door and run out into the open, lonely moonlight. As I continue to run, I breathe heavily, listening to the sounds coming from behind the door. All I remember was a blur. I opened the door to enter my condo, called for Kyle, dropped the groceries, shrieks, blood, large bodies pounding against the walls, men everywhere, gun shots, blood splatters, and Kyle's face being dragged into the background as he called out his last words to me. It still took me a moment to realize that that was the last time I will ever see him. 'My life will never be the same' I thought as I wiped the tears from my eyes. I continued running to who knows where, from who knows what, for a reason I don't even know. As I turn back, I see the men leave my house and begin to look around, probably for me. Eventually, one man turns and looks me straight in the eye as he puts a small box into his pocket. Immediately they all begin to chase after me, firing loud gunshots into the night. I continue to run, pumping my legs, and making my small hands into tight fists. I see an alley up ahead and push my body harder. 'I can make it' I tell myself repeatedly to try and drown out the sound of the men's hardy boots slamming against the concrete behind me. The wall is so close and I know I can make it. But before I turn the corner, a noise stops me dead in my tracks. At first, there is a sharp pain in the back of my head, then the warm trickle of blood, and as I put my hand behind my neck to touch the wound, I stumble to the ground. And everything goes black.

I wake up on a flat, itchy mat placed on the cold concrete floor. As I get up to stretch, I am yanked back and slammed hard on my side. I look to my right wrist, and notice it is chained to a stained, creme colored brick wall. I groan in pain and confusion, realizing I do not recall anything from the night before. I pull my left wrist (which is also chained) up as close to my head as possible, and feel a bloody bandage wrapped around my head. My whole body aches and my head is pulsing. I shake my head side to side, and blink twice. When I re open my eyes, I decide to look around at my surroundings. The floor is concrete, the walls are creme colored brick, and there are no windows or mirrors anywhere. In the opposite corner is a small fan and a chair with leather straps and metal hooks. The room is rather plain accept for a grey door with a few slots and a small grate on the opposite wall. I shiver as the draft from the fan comes my way, and look down to notice I am completely nude. My skin is severely cut and there are raw patches all over my arms and legs. I notice a bruise on my thigh and a blotchy cut on my knee. I inspect myself and check for any more wounds, before a sound comes from the door. Right away, I notice the latch begin to move and the door swings open. Automatically, I get nervous as the tall man approaches me. He bends down and throws a metal tray on the floor, covered with a few random foods. He then throws a pillow case on the ground beside it and tells me to use it however I wish. He then smiles at me slyly and walks away out the door. I look at the food on the floor and wrinkle my nose at the sour smell. 'I'm definitely not eating that' I say to myself as I push the tray away and reach for the pillowcase instead. I look down at my bare body and realize there is a metal square attached to my side. I touch it lightly and automatically regret it. The object buried itself deeper into my skin and sends and electric shock down my stomach. I cry out in pain and clutch the wall for support. Finally, the machine stops and I fall to the cold floor next to the torn up pillow case.
