A deep rumble of dark laughter escaped Deucalion, "I think you'll find that the things we do and the villains that we become are all in the name of the one thing that we both want: revenge. You know why I'm doing this Dea; because as it turns out, a man that seeks for power is more respected than a man that seeks for reason." He said.
"There's a fine line between respect and fear." Dea muttered bitterly, glancing at Deucalion.
"And it seems that for animals like you and I, those lines are often blurred. Quite like the lines between love and resentment between you and a certain Hale. Those lines seem to evaporate and become something else entirely, don't you think?" Deucalion pointed out, a smirk on his lips.
Dea sent a glare his way, "Don't talk about him. Besides, how would you know?" She replied, growing tense.
Deucalion's smirk widened slyly, filled with mysteries, "Let's just say, I don't have to an Alpha to sense what you two have between yourselves." He chuckled as Dea grimaced, feeling uncomfortable with the subject matter.
"There's nothing between us. I despise him, end of discussion." Dea said curtly, her glare hardening as she crossed her arms in defense at his statement.
Deucalion chuckled even louder, the sound vibrating through the forest, "And I suppose I'm just here for harmless fun, hmm? Dea, I've known you for a long time, do you really think you can lie to me." He stated more than asked, amused.
"Speaking about harmless fun, lets get back on topic shall we. What are you hoping to gain from this? Let's say hypothetically, you manage to gather and recruit all the unique werewolves out there. What then? How exactly are you planning you revenge?" Dea asked, attempting to change topics from her... private matters to that of the matter at hand.
"Touchy." Deucalion teased, before his smirk dropped and all evidence that there had ever been even an ounce of playfulness in him vanished all together. "Unique doesn't have an expiration date, Dea. It has no end. There will always be more to recruit." He said, but at Dea's pointed gaze, he decided to spare her an ounce of kindness and answer her hypothetical question. "But I guess, hypothetically, my idea of revenge is quite simple. It all comes down to one man: Gerard. His ego is too large to let himself die to something as humane as cancer. I knew he'd search for a way to survive, which just works out well in my favor really. As I gain in power, as I recruit and ally with the strongest and best of us under my wing, gaining more strength as I do so, he will tread more in the shadows. More alert, more aware. He won't realize it, it'll happen subconsciously. He'll start to look twice over his shoulder at every sound, wondering. Just wondering if what lurks in the shadows could indeed be his undoing. I'll take everything from him, his relatives, his distant cousins, his grandchildren, his own children, even his neighbors, his doctors, anyone and everyone he knows. He'll start to seclude himself, lose himself in paranoia and I'll leave him in that endless spiral of feeling alone and frightened for years on end. Playing with his mind so he knows that I'll always be there to see him fall, because I'll be the one to push him. He has too much pride to end his own life, which means his fear and agony will live on until one day, when he makes the mistake of feeling safe, strong and secure enough to leave his seclusion, I'll show up. And he will see the monster that he caused, that he created, become his undoing as I rip him to shred, slowly, painfully and agonizingly." Deucalion growls lowly, a dark tone to his voice as he described every detail of his plan to the woman he once saw as a daughter.
