CHAPTER THE NINTH- DAWN’S STORY

Jack was amazed at the beauty of Dawn,

Jill’s mother. Now with the castle curse gone,

More of the tale of Dawn’s rescue could be

Told, with the solving of a mystery.

Dawn took them down to the kitchen for tea.

There at the table they sat and the three

Tried to make sense of the things of the past.

Dawn had her story to tell them at last.

“I was so happy with Arthur, Jill’s dad,

There in the forest with all that we had.

Arthur had built us a cottage and life

That he could live with his daughter and wife.

Arthur was gentle and kind and he knew

All about plants in the forest. He grew

Mushrooms and herbs in the garden and yard.

He never thought that to grow them was hard.”
