Finding the right font for you is crucial to making the book cover look awesome, so I've decided to compile together a selection of my favourite fonts and what looks well with what.
To start, you need to download a font app. I use 'Phonto' , as it's quick and easy to use- perfect for beginners.
When you first load it up, you will be faced with a blank screen with a camera icon at the bottom, like so;
Go onto photo album, where you've saved your cover, and tap anywhere. It should say the words 'add text' , and then you can begin!
Phonto already comes with a large selection of fonts( press the 'font' word on the bottom right), however many of them aren't really that good when it comes to making book covers.
DAFONT
Dafont isn't hard to use, it's just a website you can find on google, or any other searching engines you might use.
Once you click on it, you are greeted with many sections and categories which all have a selection of fonts related to their name. For example, I selected on an alien category and picked a random one :
From there, I looked to the right to see a button called 'download'.
I pressed it, and it took me to a web page like this;
I then opened it in Phonto, installed it and bingo! It was ready to use!
(Although, I'm not sure where you'd use an alien font in the first place 😂)
I'll be posting fonts that I recommend in the next couple of chapters
