Simon's Pov
We walked together downstairs to find them both asleep. In all my years that I knew him, Josh hated spooning. Brooke seem to have converted him. They were in the typical spoon position and it was kinda cute honestly.
"Do you think we should wake them?" Ashlynn turned and asked me. She was still sleepy. She had that tired glaze over big, beautiful eyes. But no, I shook my head at her to motion to be quiet for them. I swiftly and gently made my way over to the kitchen.
I noticed out of the corner of my eyes that Ashlynn followed behind me. I guess there was no where else for her to go unless it was back to her room. Her brother still hasn't come out of his room with JJ. So yeah, I didn't really know what to expect.
We both entered the kitchen and I bursted out in a fit of silent giggles. The kind where you look like a dying seal gasping for air. Sorry for the gross analogy, but it's literally the only thing I could think of because Ashlynn was starring at me.
My Pov****
"Simon, what are you doing?" My voice was hushed and whispered because Josh and Brooke were so darn cute just sleeping. I crept around the corner to make sure Simon didn't wake them up. I silently thanked God that they were still sleeping like angels.
He was gasping for air with the biggest smile on his face. Just looking at this goofy kid laughing his butt off in the kitchen made me smile more than I have in a while. I honestly couldn't help but chuckle a bit with him. His face was entirely too funny not to. It was squished up really hard and he had his nostrils were flared.
He finally calmed down to the point where I could ask him why he was laughing so hard. He told me 'reasons'. That certainly is not an acceptable answer in my case. If he wanted to laugh at me, he certainly could have just said so.
"Honestly, I have no idea what I'm laughing at. Maybe it's just all funny to me because I never expected Brooke and Josh to get back together." It honestly makes a lot of sense. It's all cynical humor to some. To me, it's just crazy weird.
"Well, since they are waking up anytime soon, wanna go for a walk?"I branched out to him and I was thinking he might say no, but he simply went upstairs, put on his shoes, and told me to come on.
It was nice out. Shade was given by the trees and by God's grace, the wind was blowing nicely. Me being me and me not knowing when to keep my mouth shut, I asked if he wanted to play twenty questions. I immediately regretted asking that. I mean, I sounded like a horny teenage boy who was gonna ask about a bra size and if he was a virgin. But nonetheless, Simon said sure with a happy smile on his face.
"Alright mate, I came up with what to talk about, so you ask me a question first." He looked a bit horrified at first, but told me he was gonna start with the basic, wimpy questions that you usually get out of the way. I just made sure he knew that whatever he asked me, he had to answer too.
"Alright, alright, no pervy questions I suppose," again with a freaking wink to make my knees weak, "well, what's your favorite TV show? Mine is How I Met Your Mother." Alright. It's a fair question.
"Right now, I'm binge watching Supernatural. So I guess that's my favorite. But if you're talking all time faves, it's Bones. Brennan and Booth's relationship makes me so happy."
"What's so enthralling about another person's relationship?" He looked a but weirded about, but I was going to tell him the truth regardless of what he thought.
"If I can't have a relationship, then I'll find one that makes me happy. It's worked so far, so I'll keep it up until someone wants to take one for the team." Of course, I chuckled at my self deprecating joke, but Simon didn't think it was to funny.
"Don't think like that! Ever! There are guys lining the streets just to have a shot at you and you don't even see them!" He got so aggressive so quickly. I was a little terrified, but also a little turned on. Besides the point, he was legitimately angry at me. It was just a stupid joke, but he took it seriously.
"Dude, Simon, it was just a joke.. Are you actually angry at me?" He looked upset and then upset turned to disappointment and then into a look that I couldn't quite decipher. I've seen him look at me that way before and every time it confuses me more and more.
It appears that silence was the new game we were playing, and wow, was Simon Minter really good at it. He looked at me one last time with the indescribable look.
Simon's POV******
Okay, maybe I was a bit aggressive, but I've come to terms with my feelings for her and I feel as though I've been showing it. But she still doesn't get that. She still doesn't understand how I feel, and busting that can of biscuits on her right now cannot be a good idea. I had a love look in my eyes when I looked at her, and I always seem to be giving her that look whenever I'm around her.
"Look, I'm gonna go. I'll be back after the boys later, I assume." What was I gonna tell her, that I'm mad that she's not getting my too subtle hints and I can't be around her right now? No. I can't really break her heart now, not even when she doesn't have any feelings for me yet. I may just make a big mistake tonight, or just drink myself insane.
