Soaring Spirits - Original Song

I wrote this song for one of my old fanfics, called "Scattered Stories", which was basically own of those Simon and Marcy (Adventure Time) fanfics. In the story, when Marcelline talks about being young again for just one more day, she starts to sing this song:

We can't be doing this anymore.
We're too old, so let's just cherish our time together.
Our friendship is laying on the floor.
Our lives are just withering away, forever.

I don't know if my life can take this.
There's too much excitement in the air.
I want to roam around but
The thoughts and problems get caught up in my hair.

Discovering new things isn't my passion
I just want to be left alone.
Our faces are stained with tears and madness
Our happiness has been cut down to the bone.

Thinking about the good times we had just isn't enough
Our company is growing tougher, older, and rough.

Crying madness, happy sadness, we can't do this anymore.
Let's just go, with the flow, let our spirits soar.

This was the original version of the song, but I added another part to it, because it seemed a bit short:

My hands are covered with the anger of my soul
My eyes show nothing but heartbreak and despair
Our fun time together sure has taken its toll
And without you life just seems quite unfair

The monster that's inside is killing me I swear
And yet I still cry and think in the rain
