"Mama, look!" Called Felina, an optimistic 8 year old unicorn as she used her magic to create ribbon-like strands of colorful light. That evening, Felina's herd had gone to the Mirror Pond to graze and they were heading back to their small clearing in the Enchanted Forest. Felina's coat was snowy white and had a naturally glittery appearance. Her silvery mane and tail were quite wispy, and had a few slight pale pink streaks. Her horn was a cloudy silver and quite long for her age. This wasn't very surprising, since she was pretty tall and mature for her age as well.

The picture above is what I think Felina looks like, except the colors are a little different. This is what my longer A/Ns are going to look like btw.

"You're doing great Felie." Her mother, Lily said proudly, looking down at her playful daughter. "Soon you'll be able to do magic as amazing as this." Felina's mother said as she started to create more intricate glowing patterns around her and Felina. The young unicorn giggled as she trotted through her mother's magical lights as they faded into the night before trotting off to chase a firefly.

The herd neared their clearing and Felina bounded in and walked to her favorite place to sleep which was near the edge of the clearing next to a mossy tree. Felina soon slipped into a deep and peaceful sleep. That is, until she began to have a nightmare that her herd's clearing was engulfed in flames, unicorns were galloping around and neighing in a terror-driven panic, and dragons flew overhead. Even though the nightmare was short-lived, the young unicorn was left with a strange sense of uneasiness throughout the rest of her dreamless slumber.

Still feeling the uneasiness from her nightmare, Felina woke up shivering in an eerie silence, shrouded in a thick layer of fog, preventing her from seeing more than about a foot in front of her face. She saw a dark figure to her right that to her, appeared to be her mother. Taking this into consideration, Felina carefully reached out her muzzle toward it. It was ridged and stiff. Felina then realized that this wasn't her mother but the tree that she slept by. She started to get a little worried. 'Wait a minute.' Felina thought. 'I learned how to locate things with magic last month!' She started channeling her magic like her teacher had taught her. When her horn started tingling and glowing she thought of her mother and a dim stream of pastel pink light flowed from her horn and illuminated her mother's horn. 'Good, she's still here.' Felina thought as she breathed a breath of relief.

Felina then gently brushed up against her mother's shoulder with her muzzle as the light died off. Her mother then quickly regained her bearings before showing Felina her attention. "Can we go to The Mirror Pond? I'm thirsty." Felina asked looking up at her mother. 'I must have slept with my mouth open again.' Felina said in her mind. "Sure Felie. Just let me tell your father." Her mother said.

Lily gently rubbed her husband's neck with the side of her face until he woke up. "Ray?" (Felina's father) *snort* "Yes, Lily?" "Me and Felina are going to The Mirror Pond. Just telling you for if you wake up and are wondering where we are." "Well, I'll come too." Ray said happily. Somehow he always seemed to be wide awake as soon as he opened his eyes. "Will Ronnie (Felina's 11 year old brother) be okay alone?" Lily asked nervously. "Ronnie's a pretty sound sleeper, he'll probably still be asleep when we get back." Ray replied. "I guess you're right. Let's go." Lily agreed, a little calmer now.

Felina and her parents quietly and carefully walked through the Enchanted Forest so not to wake anyone or bump into things. Soon they neared the area of the Enchanted Forest where the Mirror Pond was. Felina sensed the magic of the pond and started walking a little faster and noticed that there was a little less fog than back at the clearing.

Suddenly the trees opened up to reveal the Mirror Pond in all of its magical glory. Felina could see quite far across the wide open area considering the fact that there was much less fog here than at the clearing.

She quietly walked over to the Mirror Pond, dipped her muzzle in and took a sip of it's fresh, shining waters. Her parents then came over and did the same. The three of them then walked out into the field behind The Mirror Pond to eat some of the sweet grass that grew there.

She looked up at the sky as she gingerly chewed the grass and saw a silhouetted figure fly over an opening in the clouds. Followed by another, and another. 'Are they birds?' Felina thought to herself. 'No, they can't be. They're too big to be birds. Way too big. But if they're not birds, then what are they?'

Hiya, Wattpadians! This is my first story, so expect it to be pretty short, simple, and have a few grammatical errors. But despite that, I hope you all enjoy it! I will probably update it a few times a month. This is depending on how much homework I have (because I get distracted very easily), how long the chapter is, and how strong my motivation to finish the chapter is.
