I woke up in a strange alley with my unruly blonde hair tangled to my head and a horrible headache. The screams are what awoke me, blood curdling terrified for their life screams. It was really a horrendous sound to wake up to, but the confusion of waking up in an alley and not in my soft bed was probably up there in the horrendous waking category. My clothes were a mess and were sticking to me with dried crusted sweat. My black skinny jeans clung to my legs in a familiar yet uncomfortable way while my black shirt was loose providing comfort. My leather jacket provided me with the warmth to not receive hyperthermia in this cold weather while sleeping outside. The screams started up again and I sprung into action grabbing a weapon that was closest to me, a sword that was randomly laying on the ground beside me. I have never been more confused in my life this wasn't the 1800's why is there randomly an old sword lying on the ground. I decided to ponder over my questions later and ran off down the alley to help the poor soul that sounded like it was being murdered in the next alley.
As my black combat boots hit the ground the screams became louder and more distressed. Rounding the corner the sight was enough to make me want to stop dead in my tracks but I knew I couldn't that girl needed my help and I will be dammed if I don't give it to her. I raise the sword and walk as quietly as possible up behind the vampire who was currently devouring this poor girls blood supply. As soon as I was in striking distance the vampire drops the girl on the ground and turns to face me, alarmed by my arrival. But it was too late my sword was already arched and striking towards his neck separating his head from his body with little to no effort while the fire flicking from the tip of my sword sets his whole body ablaze as it slices through the cold flesh. I turn to find the girl who was being drained and notice that somewhere in the time the vamp had turned and I killed him she had bolted out of the alley. I could chase after her, make sure she was okay but I had bigger problems to deal with. Like why this vampire decided to break from the clan and have human blood. Little did I know that leaving that girl wandering around on her own with blood dripping down her neck would cause an outbreak. An apocalypse that I could have prevented.
