"Damnit, Cas! I made it very clear that he was not allowed here!" Dean yelled, looking at a wide-eyed Cas holding a small grey kitten in his arms.
"B-but Dean! He's so young. He'll die on the streets."
"Then take it to a damn shelter. I don't care what you do with him, as long as he is not in the bunker. We don't need another mouth to feed. Besides, im not willing to scoop up his shit out of a box."
"Dean, I will take care of him. Please! I will take care of doing everything!" Cas pleaded as the kitten clawed his way up to sit on the former angel's trench-covered shoulders.
"Come on, Dean. I doubt he would be much trouble." Sam piped up from his position at the table, a book laying open in front of him.
"No one asked you. I said no, end of conversation. Get rid of it or I will do it for you."
"Why are so against him?" Cas's voice began to rise, shocking the Winchester's. "God forbid we have a little joy in our lives for a change!" Tears threatened to fall from his big blue eyes as he stormed off, ignoring Dean's pleas for him to stop.
"He makes a point, Dean."
With a sigh, Dean mumbled, "I know. I'll go talk to him."

"You wouldn't be a burden, would you?" Cas cooed sweetly as he scratched the kitten behind the ear. The kitten closed his bright blue eyes and purred, leaning into the ear-scratching. He perked up at the sound of knocking on the door.
"Cas, can I come in?" Dean asked, voice muffled by the thick wood of the door. Before Cas could answer, Dean opened the door ad stepped inside. Immediatly, the kitten lept off of Cas's bed and rubbed against Dean's long legs. Dean picked the kitten up and plopped him into Castiel's arms.
"Listen, if you promise to take care of him, I guess he can stay." The moment the words were out, Cas threw his arms around the other man.
"Thank you so much, Dean! He won't be any trouble at all! I Promise!" The cat gave a soft meow as if agreeing with Cas. As the embrace continued well past the normal social etiquette, the kitten pawed at the blankets, curled into a little ball of pure floof, and fell asleep.
