"After 1000 years, the earth is still struggling to breath." Said Evangeline solemnly sweeping her fingers against the cold, black dirt. "Well, at least this earth is." She stood up to look at the glorious light coming from the other side.
"Its so warm isn't it?" Spoke kiera. She floated over to Evangeline. "I can almost feel...happy being so close." Said Evangeline.
Kiera touched her on the shoulder. "I know you do. You always seem to be so happy over here. But you can never go into the light. You are forbidden. Are you aware of this, Evangeline?" "Yes. I am aware." Said Evangeline. "Although, don't you think...that it would be much better over there?" Kiera looked at Evangeline.
She was very beautiful. Her skin was as dark as the night sky and her eyes shone like the stars. She always seemed to find the good in things. Maybe it was her gift. Kiera smiled and said "Certainly. It must be."
Evangeline stood up and took Kiera in her hands. "Listen. I know that the Yangs are not so bad. They cant be! I know that we can live in peace again if-" Kiera pulled away. "Look Evange. If you do so much as to even talk about the Yangs, The Queen will kill you." "ill be fine if I could ju-" "DONT YOU GET IT EVANGELINE!?" The shaken Evangeline took a step back from her friend who had just yelled at her. "K-kiera?" Evangeline could see the shining tears flowing down kiera's milky white eyes.
"You just don't get it. You just don't get how different we are. There's no way we could ever live together peacfully again." As Kiera walked away, Evangeline felt such a sad presence emerging from her body. That wasn't anything new since Yins were naturally negative. Evangeline moved closer to the barrier and felt happiness and joy wash over her. "One day." She said as she closed her eyes. "I know we will"
