The heat of my car fills me with delight as I get in with a huge, excited smile on my face. Today I am finally going to see my brother again after way to long! His band is performing at the 02 arena tonight and I can't wait!
I've seen him perform a thousand times before, but never in front of a big crowd, or live for that matter, unless you count the endless concerts he held in our living room when he was little. I'm not only seeing him, I'm also seeing my best friend again! I haven't seen her in nearly two years, so I'm so excited about that as well. We've tried to keep in touch, but the time difference made it really difficult.
I crank up the volume of my radio and sing along to the songs of his that I knew. The 30 minute car drive is quite lonely, so I use the music to distract me.
My parents and siblings would've joined me, but they have seen him a few weeks ago and besides, the thought of going out in public with me or even coming close to me when others are near is enough to convince them not to come. It doesn't bother me anymore, though. I've gotten over that years ago.
I was lucky enough to receive a backstage pass from my brother, so when I parked in the abandoned arena parking lot (it was a full two hours before the show and no one was allowed to come even close to the back), I took a short walk towards the door that lead to backstage. I was so excited yet nervous to see my brother again. It's been so long! I knocked on the door and it wasn't even ten seconds before the door opened hastily. I didn't recognize the guy who opened the door. He was tall, buff and looked like he could kill you with just a stare if he wanted to.
"Please tell me that you're Jemma?" I nodded nervously. He sighed a sigh of relief before smiling at me, calming me down.
"Yeah, you look just like him. Thank goodness! Now those annoying boys can stop bothering me about when you're showing up. Nice to meet you, Jemma. My name is James, I'm the band's tour manager and unofficial peacekeeper. Please follow me to the break room." He said, holding the door open for me so that I could scoot past him.
"Thank you." I said shyly. He replied with a nod and a smile, making me smile as well. He led me through a series of identical hallways, which I knew I would've gotten lost in without his help, before we stopped in front of an tall white door.
"Here you are, young lady. If the boys aren't there, just wait for a little while, they'll be there soon. Oh, and please, help yourself to anything you'd like and remember not to be shy. If you're anything like your brother, I know that it won't be a problem. Enjoy them and I'll see you soon. Good luck," he said, patting my shoulder before turning around and walking back in the direction from which we came from.
I took a few deep breaths before opening the door quietly. The room was incredible! There were three large red couches, a massive flat screened TV, two mini fridges and even a complete Xbox set with a huge variety of games. I stared in awe at my surroundings before slight movement caught my eye. A blond head was sticking out, telling me that I wasn't alone in the room. An evil smirk formed on my lips as plan popped up into my head.
The guy looked pretty distracted, so naturally I decided to take advantage of the situation. I slowly crept up behind him, careful not to make a sudden movement or sound, before hovering my head over his shoulder.
"What ya doing?" I said near his ear and he fell to the ground with a frightened expression on his face. I was also on the floor, rolling from the laughter that made my stomach hurt.
"You must be..." The blonde was interrupted by a voice coming from behind me.
"Jem, is that you?" I spun around, staring into the loving eyes of my big brother. I smiled.
"The one and only. I've missed you, Wesley"
"I missed you too, Jam Jar" he joked, opening his arms widely. I ran into them, jumping into the air. He caught me and dramatically spun me around.
"How has my favorite little sister in the whole wide world been doing?"
"Oh, you know. Same old, same old. I really did miss you, though. It's been tough not having my big brother around me anymore. I almost forgot how it felt to not be followed every minute of every day." I said, sticking my tongue out at him. He did the same, making us both giggle.
"There's no doubt that you two are related." Blondy said. Wow, I almost forgot that he was there.
"Sorry, bro. I didn't see you there. I was blinded a bit by my sister's beauty. Jemma, this is my best friend and band mate, Shane. Shane, this is my incredible sister, Jemma."
We shook hands and I got to fully examine his appearance. He was quite tall, certainly taller than my 5'2" body, and had a strong structure, which made his pearly blue eyes pop. He was really attractive, though I'd never say that aloud.
"Yeah, we met a few minutes ago. You'll never believe what she did to me! She scared the living day lights out of me, causing me to fall and all that she did was laugh her butt of at me!" Shane said, pretending to be angry. I could see the spark of amusement in his eyes, though, so he wasn't fooling me.
"You did that?" Wes asked and I nodded proudly.
"That's my girl! I've taught you well, young grasshopper." He high-fived me, causing Shane to gasp.
"Wes, you were supposed to support me here!" he whined. "What ever happened to bro's before hoes?" He said jokingly, making us all laugh.
"Sorry bro, this is my baby sister. You ain't got nothing on her" he said and I smirked at Shane, causing him to walk away dramatically, standing in the corner and looking really mad. I giggled at his immaturity.
If these guys are anything like Shane, we'll get along just fine....

RomansaLife hasn't always been sunshine and roses for Jemma, but she has always managed to get through every obstacle life threw at her. She pretty much lived in isolation and there was only two people she would ever talk to, her older brother and her best...
