I nodded and breathed out. "Okay papi. I guess you're right."
"Guess?" He cheekily raised his eyebrow, suggesting that he was always right.
"Yes guess." I warned him with a judgement look before checking my watch. "We better get going, my plane call with be in at least five minutes." My father nodded and led the way back into the airport and to where Sven sat waiting.
He stood as soon as he saw us both back. "Your plan was called about a minute ago." He explained anxiously, scared that I would miss it.
Of course, me being me, I did panic a little and quickly grabbed my bags, saying my final goodbyes to my brother and papi. "By papi." I hugged him tightly, not wanting to let go.
My papi could sense that and soothed that sense by rubbing my back. "Have a save journey Blossom and make sure to call me when you get to Germany, okay? I'll worry about you." I nodded, telling him that he shouldn't be worried about me and if anyone should be worried it's him.
"Especially when you're left with this idiot." I giggled, pointing at Sven. In Sven's typical fashion, he poked his tongue out at me before we moved to hug too. "I'm going to miss you fatty." I sighed, rocking back and forth.
Sven chuckled. "I'll miss you two control freak. But you can call me whenever, I don't care..." Our papi slapped the back of his head. "I mean, as long as you're safe of course."
"Yeah, lovely how you add that in after papi hits you." I teased, giving him one last slap to the forehead before I gathered my bags once more. "I'll see you in a couple of months. Sven keep the apartment clean, dad stop snacking on burgers, and with you please learn him how to use Skype!" Pointing accusingly at Sven who held his hands up.
"Whatever you say, control freak." He held his hands up as I began to walk away towards my gate. As I took one last glance back to give them a wave, I saw my brother making crashing noises like the plane was going to crash while my papi just hit him across the head. It made me giggle and I already felt in a better mood about this great opportunity for me professionally and personally.
The plane journey from Copenhagen to Dusseldorf was quite an easy going four hours. Sacha had very kindly bought me a business class seat, meaning I had a very luxurious sitting. Pull down chairs, complimentary drinks, movies to watch and hot towels. I'd had a cheeky dry martini on the way, because why the hell not?
While on the plane journey I had time to think about everything that was going on and what my dad had said. This was a great opportunity for me, to further my knowledge and experiences when it came to my profession but also to experience different countries. Sure, I'd visited Germany on several occasions for a couple of days at a time but nothing like I would be this time. So I was excited to get to see the culture, live amongst the people and experience a typical German city like Dortmund. There was also the small matter of the reason I was flying over there; for this project. That was the most exciting thing I was looking forward to. To be able to demonstrate my skills when it came to digital engineering and also meeting my client; Marco Reus.
I have to admit when Sascha first told me his name, I did a little researching on him using Google. Anyone would do that right? Especially when it's a famous celebrity. I guess, I just wanted to get an impression of the person I would be working with. In the end however, I had started watching a couple of video's of him playing for his club and I have to admit, I was very impressed with him. He was a very professional athlete with that comical side to him, particularly when it came to goal celebrations.
The Batman and Robin one was my personal favourite. I didn't even know you were allowed to keep things like that on a football field.
Anyhow, when the plane landed, I felt refreshed and awaiting the challenge ahead of me. After collecting my baggage from the baggage area, I made my way to the meet and greet point, where Sascha had agreed he'd be picking me up from to drive me back to my hotel Dortmund.
