My name is Adeline Reed. I'm 15 years old and I can measure how dangerous a person is on a scale from 1 to ten. For example, a man carrying a revolver on the city bus was a 9. Most of the people I go to school with think I'm insane even though I save their life.

It is the first day of the second semester of freshman year. I look in the mirror and my blonde hair is out of control and my brown eyes are still shit brown. I hop in the shower then I get dressed, I brush my teeth and leave for school.

When I get to school I have math first thing in the morning. I haven't had the sufficient amount of caffeine or sleep to deal with people. Around 80% of the people here are around 2 or 3 on the scale. "Class, please welcome Brandon Daniel it is his first day here." The teacher Mr. Chris said with his abnormally high voice.

Woah. As soon as I looked at Brandon I thought he was cute. But he was a 10 on the scale of danger.
