"Do you come here often?" A husky voice whispers, his warm breath blows right against my ear.

I meet his gaze for no more than a second and then reflect back to his question. I just assume he mean's the subway station. I give a slight nod, before I return back to my previous stands.

His arms wraps around my waist, and I give my best effort to squirm out of his unfamiliar grasp.  But New York subways are always crowded, and I didn't have much where else to go.

"Not here." A voice hisses in my head. "Too many eyes lurking, too many bad outcomes."

The same voice as before interrupts my thoughts, though this time his voice came through as more demanding, and his grip around my waist tightened, making my breath hitch.

"We can get out of here." he suggests. "I can make your time worth while."

I turn to face him and this time I look long enough to scan his features. He was an older man, in a dress shirt and his eyes a dark shade of brown.

"Fuck. You." I spat, just loud enough for only him to hear.

"Don't worry baby we will get to tha-". His sentence was interrupted by the loud, screeching breaks of the subway. He stumbles back, loosening his grip. I take this as the best opportunity to snake out from his arms, disappearing into the large crowd of New Yorker's.

I look back and let out a breath I didn't even know I was holding when I can no longer see that smug, son of a bitch's face.

I walk through the echoing subway tunnels. I toss my hood up to cover my piercing green eyes and I chose to keep my gaze at my feet. My backpack slums past my hips making it hard to keep my weight centered. I focus on the constant "click" of what I presume to be some lady's high heels. I imagine what life would be like to be that, simple. You wake up, go to a simple desk job, in your simple dress shoes and come home to your oh so simple family. But I guess you're either born simple, or you're born..me.

I feel the powerful gusts that travel through my thick hoodie, right up my spine from an incoming subway train. I close my eyes, and just for a second, I let the wind carry me. Moments like these are some of the few times where I feel, free. Though this strange, perfect moment ceases in a matter of seconds and I am returned to my flawed reality.

My scenery changes from the crowded subway halls, to the crowded New York streets. And I continue to make my way to NY district High School. I sigh in relief when I recognize the red bricked building towering in the distance. My legs were tired and the incident in the subway was making me extra paranoid today. Trust me, I hated school as much as the next teenager, but at least I felt a sense of protection behind those four walls. I even give a small smile when I come face to face with the entrance of the building. I am just about to take a step towards the door when a blow to my stomach causes me to gasp and stumble backwards. I look down to realize I'm holding a small white envelope sealed with a mark that could have only come from one place. I turn around to realize that the sender has already disappeared and I come back face to face with the small package. I open it only to see an address.

408 Baldwin street.

I guess I wasn't going to school today after all.
