The Accident

Chapter 1

Maya and Riley walk into their first day at high school. They scream and run at each other noticing the others appearance.
"AHHH. Is that my Maya Penelope Hart?" Riley yelled.
"Yes it is! How is my honey?!" Maya replied.
The girls walk up to each other and give each other a hug.
"So Maya you ready for class?" Riley asked.
"As ready as I'll ever be" Maya mumbled back.
The girls walked into class realizing that Mr. Matthews was there history teacher.
"Hi dad!"
"Sup Matthews"
The two girls said as they walked into the room and say down.
The rest of class and the week for that matter went by rather quickly for both the girls. Over the weekend Riley would study and Maya would watch tv and eat junk, even though they had a big history test on Monday.  Maya headed over to Riley's house Monday morning.
"I just don't understand how my dad could do this to us, I mean it's only the second week of school and it's a Monday!" Riley said annoyed.
"Yeah but I'm sure you'll rock it"Maya said.
Riley cocked her eyebrow at Maya " Did you study peaches?"
Maya nervously looked back at her "Well you see Riles..." Riley interrupted her.
"Maya you can't just not study you have to go to school and get good grades!" Riley said anxiously.
"It'll be fine Riley, it always is" Maya said trying to calm her friend down.
The girls walked the rest of the way to school in silence. They arrived just in time for the first class of the day , History,  the girls say down in their usual spots waiting for Mr.Matthews to pass out the test.
"Good luck" the two girls said in unison.
Maya looked down at her paper and started filling out the paper as quickly as she could. While Riley took her time and checked every answer three times over. To Mr.Matthews surprise Maya was the first one done.
He cocked an eyebrow at her "Ms.Hart do you think you have done all that you can to get an A on this assignment?"
"Sure Matthews I studied during the week a bunch" she lied.
"Alrighty then we'll just have to see how it turns out" he said.
A few more classmates came up and then Riley was finally done with her test.
"All done dad!" Riley said proudly.
"Alright. And I know you studied so I won't even ask" he winked at her then turned to grab his coffee off the desk behind him.  Before they knew it class was over and it was onto the rest of the day.
