I stared at the ground attempting to evaluate everything that had happened within the last 24 hours. All I could think about was regretting every bit of the murder I just committed. "Excuse me, Mrs. Korei Crews?" A police officer said. I nodded. "Detective Hawthorne would like to take you into the back room and ask you a few questions." He stated. He offered his hand to help me up, but I kindly rejected it. Leading me to the back room I could feel my heartbeat growing faster as the nervousness to talk to the detective worsened each step towards the room. We reached the door and the detective wasn't even in there. "Detective Hawthorne will meet you shortly." The officer said as he closed the door. I clicked my heels and tapped my nails against the table as I waited.
Five minutes later, the detective came in the room. "I'm so sorry for the wait Mrs. Crews." He stated. I smirked, "It's fine." He looked at me up and down and began to lick his lips. Asshole. I checked my watch again hoping he would get the hint that we should start with the interrogation. "I assume you're in a rush ?" He asked raising his eyebrows. I didn't say anything. "Well then, lets just go ahead and get this thing started shall we ?" He smiled. "So, your relationship with your husband," he paused "was it any good? You know the sex, communication, understanding, loyalt-". "Absolutely not." I rolled my eyes. He gave me that look wanting me to explain. "We didn't exactly have a sex life... after I had my miscarriage a year ago we've basically just been... coexisting. Communication? I believe I just answered it and loyalty? Nonexistent." I stated. He raised his eyebrows wanting more. Placing my hand on the table I said "One word: Infidelity."
"When did you find out he was being unfaithful?" He asked. "About a month and a half ago maybe I don't know." I shrugged. "Do you know who he was cheating with?" I began to answer but I stopped myself and shook my head no. He frowned, "Can you tell me the day you found out that you caught him in the act?" I hesitated, thinking if I really wanted to give him that information or not. He looked at his watch as my thoughts swirled around in my head, deciding if I should tell him.
"Let's start from the beginning, shall we ?"
