"Joe, can you please explain to us what happened Wednesday night?"
"Yes, officer. It was dark, cold. I remember I was outside digging through a few trashcans for food. I hadn't eaten in days and I was starving. I was creeping along the hard, brick walls of an old church when I suddenly heard a loud noise come from the alley. My neck snapped upward and I started slowly and carefully towards the alley. I heard a low growl and saw a shadow move swiftly across the dark space in front of me. I grabbed a large rock and held it up, as a weapon. A feral cat darted out from the shadows and started running faster towards me. My heartbeat quickened as the filthy cat leaped upwards and snagged its claws in my shirt. The deep, menacing growl had me shaking with fear. I was weak from sleep deprivation. I was weak from not eating.
After I managed to throw the cat off of me, I paused and stared back into the alley. The shadows from the buildings loomed over me. The fear within me grew. Something started slinking it's way out of the alley. Something tall. Something horrifying. Something that was out to get me.
I saw large red eyes and long claws reaching for me. Whatever this thing was, it wanted to catch me. It wasn't human. I couldn't scream. I scrambled to my feet and ran as fast as I could. That is when I realized, monsters were real, and they were out to get me."
