"If I didn't visit, you'd dead." Wonsik said bluntly, surprised the man could even form sentences as he dropped the bags down onto the small kitchen counter, unpacking everything he had bought. Along with the bags, he slammed down a few hundreds on the table, another hundred heavy in his pocket. "Where did you get the money to buy it?"

"B-Buy what?" The man cackled as if he had asked the funniest question ever. He looked over to where Wonsik had nodded, "O-Ohh!" He slurred his words, "The m-money you gave me."

"You mean the money I gave you to pay rent?" Wonsik slammed the can of chicken soup down onto the counter as he turned around, his eyes blazing in a way that made the high-off drugs and drunkard flinch.

"Aye, you c-can't hate. I'm already living in this hell hole!" The old man shouted back before slumping against the wall. Wonsik exhaled through his nose deeply, counting up to ten in his head because he would lose his shit if he were to count down from it.

"You should know fucking better! Pay the goddamn rent before you go off to buy all that bullshit! Go overdose yourself on that shit if you want to but pay the rent and keep a roof over mom's head before you do." Wonsik turned back around to put away all the stuff, freezing as a hand landed on his shoulder.

"E-Excuse me? Who do you thin—" His so-called old man choked on his words as Wonsik spun around, grabbing the hand on his shoulder off of himself and twisting it in an abnormal way. "Let go, you fucking little shit!"

"Listen here," Wonsik hissed out his words, venom lacing every syllable, "You don't touch me. You don't touch mom. I'm only providing for you because she refuses to leave your sorry ass. Apparent she sees something in an old shit like you with that damned twenty twenty vision of hers and I just so happen to have a soft spot for her. But that doesn't mean I'm going to stand here and let you try and what? Beat me up?" He laughed bitterly, throwing his head back before cocking his head back to glare at the miserable man who had helped in conceiving him, "I fuck people up for a living, father, so you, no scratch that, so mom can live."

He shoved the older man away from him, leaving the bastard to heave heavily through his drug and alcohol induced daze. He quickly finished putting everything away, the pain in his body taking it's toll on him as the last of the adrenaline slipped from his fingers.

Tired; that's what he was at this point.

He was already halfway to the front door before a voice made him freeze.

"Wonsik-ah?" Her fragile voice rung in his ears. He closed his eyes tightly, wishing that the floor would just swallow him up but he knew better than that. Miracles didn't happen.

"Mom." He whispered softly as he turned around, giving her a slight grin to which she returned a gasp. His mother looked as beautiful as he remembered, wearing the things he had bought for her, hair tidy and well kept, tied up as well thanks to the pricey shampoo and conditioner he had bought her, along with hair ties. "You look like you're doing well."

"I don't think I can say the same for you." She said gently, sadly, as she walked over to where he stood, thin arms wrapping around his taller and larger frame. He immediately wrapped himself around her, wishing he could just shield her from everything and take her away to somewhere nice, but to her, nice was by that bastards side. She was too kind for her own good but that was why he loved her. "Were you about to leave without a hello?"

"I didn't want to wake you." He whispered. Realizing that he was still covered in blood, he hastily pushed her away from his body but still kept her close, "Ah, you shouldn't stain your clothes."

"And you shouldn't stain your hands." She retorted wisely, sassily just like he remembered her to be. "Don't worry, I have an abundance of clothes that you've bought for me in the closet. It won't hurt to get to hug you a little."
