Her Secret Demon

Chapter 1 -Beginings

Ava Pierce always knew she was peculiar in a way that separated her from the normality. After her father Terry Pierce decided it was time for change. They had lived in in the small town of Garner since she could remember. She hadn't seen change for 17 years. Moving to a new place was almost over bearing and exciting for her she was reluctant to say bye to her home; It was all she known.

She stared aimlessly at blurred canopy of tress that loomed above her. her body sprawled across the ground. She was contempt with her new home; for one reason and it might be the only reason, that a dark pine forest rounded the town. It made the town seem like it was something mystifying and uncanny like her. Almost made her feel at home right away. She looked beyond the canopy's at the angry clouds that have yet to weep. The air was crisp  and vibrant the smell of minty pine burned her lungs in a good way.

The ground was wet and cold from continuous rain. But she didn't mind. She was more than happy with the rain. The noise of thunder sounded through the sky. The first tear that fell from the sky ran down her cheek. She smiled at herself. She felt as if she had been here before. Not in the very place she was laying but in the town. It practically called her name when she first arrived made her heart flutter .

She let her mind wonder to how her new class mates would perceive her or if her father would finally take her up on home schooling.  It wasn't likely. But she could hope. Who would she meet. What fascinating people lived here. Yet again she relied on hope, that they weren't like the people she come accustomed to. She knew she would be the center of attention. Like in all small towns when someone new came. It was like that person had something different from the rest. Like a book that has the same concept inside but a different cover. Her thoughts were cut short when her fathers voice sounded through the forest. Calling her name. She hesitantly got up now realizing that it was pouring. Her father stood in the door arch way of their new home. It was small but cozy just big enough for the two of them.  He beckoned her to quicken her paste. She was soaking wet when she reached her dad. He sounded his unapproval in an incoherent grumbling under his breath; as he handed her a towel.  "you're going to get sick Ava" she rolled her eyes.

Since Ava's mother died when she was seven years old her father had taken on the role of two parents. Her pre teen years were like hell for her. He would always walk her up to the entrance of middle school glaring at all the boys who he thought would be some kind of trouble. He was the reason why she couldn't get a boy friend for the life of her. Even in high school when he stopped. She joined one sports team when she was in 7th grade but  didn't try out again because Ava's father had a little to much spirit.  Her father's over protectiveness was the reason why she never been out of Garner.

She patted herself down and quickly made it to her room.

She took one of the worn books off the shelf. Her finger prints indented in the dust. The whole time she was in the library a tingling sensation ran through her body. Making her feel almost giddy. Her father had brought her to the library with him to check out books. She didn't particularly like to read but library's gave her a sense of coziness. She put the book back in its place. She continued to walk down the shelves of books running her fingers on the backs of them. Her father was busy ogling some of the old books that weren't found in Garner. Terry always had a thing about knowledge. If there was something he didn't know he was bound to find out about it. Ava stopped abruptly when her finger ran along a golden book cover. The instant she touched the spine a static charge was sent through her fingers. She took the golden book out from the wedge between the other plain looking books. Tingles ran up her arm. The book didn't have a name on its cover. She opened it to find the pages blank. 'Well this is strange' she thought to herself. She thought about putting the book back in its place but couldn't bring her self to do it. Her arms refused to work with her mind. She tucked the book under her arm.

Please tell me what you think of the book so far. This will be my first  second person point of view book. ~~~ xD
