'MEERA' was everywhere, in the internet,in the gossips and now was the breaking news! Not that she was a celebrity or something, but because of her mistake. A mistake she would regret all her life. She did not committed crime but did trust someone who wasn't worth it.

People out were talking about her, no one cared to talk to her. She was depressed and had locked her in a room because of her fright of much more gossiping. But fate wanted her tale to be known to people by herself!

Just before a week when the whole society was against her,all  she had were her best friends, Rohan and Nikita; even her parents and family ignored her. She was alone. She asked herself again and again what was the reason people were looking at her with disrespect? It should be him who should be disrespected. He was the one who added alcohol to her drink and made a joke of her feelings and sold her feelings. He was out enjoying and she was the one locked and depressed. She just needed a little push, which was given by the obvious friends. She decided to fight for herself. But the journey wasn't easy.

She hated the way people looked at her, for once she even thought it would have been better to be raped, at least she would see people with sympathy in their eyes; but then she knew what she wanted, she not at all wanted sympathy, and disrespect. She knew to earn respect once again, she had to make people believe she was not the one who did anything wrong, but he was the one to be humiliated. She asked lot of her friends to say her character sketch in the court, but all turned a deaf ear to her and she wasn't the one who would keep her self- respect a side and beg for help. For a moment she was in disbelief, the people who said, 'I will always be there for you', were the one who not even looked at her. All were fake and her family was weak who didn't want to hear and bare people when they talked about their daughter, when she called her father, he said "don't you even try to call me your father, if you were my daughter you would have never done such a thing, for me you are dead." And from that day she never called her parents. The main reason to fight was to gain the respect and tell the society and parents that she is innocent.

When she started socializing and going out, people ignored her but not without passing crude comments. But then she knew to shut their mouth. When a man stated her as a whore, she exactly knew what to say. "Women only become whores when men like you surf the internet and demand them to be." Ps I am NOT a whore; I am just a naive girlfriend who cared for a guy who wasn't worth the trust.

She cried, whenever alone, she had to answer all the disgusting questions asked to her in the court, but what she knew was that she needed her respect back. In those difficult times she was all alone. Her best friends were forced by their parents not to go and involve themselves in the mess of police and court, yet both of them met her and gave her emotional support, but they were tied to help her more than that. Only his lawyer was her support.

The lawyer was a smart and an understanding person. Only in matter of time he knew that she was innocent. The lawyer was surprised to see her boldness. She was the first girl he knew was stronger than anyone else. She did not hesitate in saying all what she went through, although he knew how painful it was for her to repeat those things again and again. Once when she had to visit the police while the media was waiting for their BREAKING NEWS, her lawyer asked her to cover her face by her dupatta, but she refused. "If I haven't done anything wrong why should i hide my face?" she said. They were going to win, she was going to gain her respect back!

Her lawyer and Meera both gained enough proofs to prove Meera's boyfriend had committed a cyber crime. They even found out that because of him two girls committed suicide too. The dog destroyed lives of many girls and played with them. He thought girls were easy to play and were weak, but little did he know, girls like Meera too exist. He was punished and Meera got her respect back.

The plus point she found in her struggle was her strong attitude which she was oblivious to, and second the love of her life. Her lawyer fell in love with her boldness and kindness.

She sure is strong because of her fight, but she is stronger because she forgave her parents, family, friends and society for their cruel actions. Truly said "forgiving is the sign of strong, weak can never forgive." But Meera forgave everyone which made her stronger than every girl who suffered the journey.

Now, Meera works for a NGO, and gives strength to all those girls neglected and alienated by the society.

Who am I?

Present:

"So, Mr. Sahil how and why did you join the NGO? You were the criminal of Meera." Interviewer asked me.

Meera is the reason I have changed, her strength and kindness towards me, even after what I did made me ashamed of myself. And here I am devoting my life to the NGO. You would be surprised to know, not only me but Meera changed lives of many other people too. – I retorted with a warm smile. Yes, Meera change my smirk into a warm smile.
