I was raised in an extremely conservative baptist Christian family. For hundreds of years my family had and still is devoting their entire, complete being to the guy upstairs. In fact the only reason I'm living in South Africa today is because my great grandpa came here as a missionary to spread gods good work with the people of this land. He was one of the first people to introduce Durban to baptist Christianity. If it wasn't for that I'd be in India, married to a 48-year-old with nose hair and a fugly mustache. But that's a story for another book. My great grandpa even has a degree(yes apparently one can be tested on something that has no solid proof) in divinity. Basically, I'm screwed if I want to believe in anything other than Christianity. (Mom and dad stop reading now!)
But I'm atheist. I haven't told anyone for fear of "dishonoring" my family. In my family atheist/non believers are seen as wrong and delusional. You don't believe in Jesus Christ? Careful my family thinks you'll end up like Hitler. (Little known fact, Hitler was actually Christian). Apparently, it's the atheists that cause all the problems in this world. Really, FAM? Then what about the crusades? I'm pretty sure the "heathens" had absolutely nothing to do with the crusades. You know why? Because they were too busy being burned at stakes, by your people, to have lead a battle in the name of God. I feel that I want to share this with you guys. Yes total strangers, you know about my new belief choice before my parents do. Congrats!
I've read numerous books, articles, blogs about how "Christianity is complete bullshit" or how "God is actually a demon." And all of them are written by great philosophers who have spent their entire lives "studying" the bible and made it their lives' mission to disprove the religion. You know what? Props to them! I would never be able to do that but they did and I say congrats guys. But I've actually got a social life so unfortunately that won't do. But what I've really noticed is how they use elaborate, philosophical terminology. You hardly understand what these guys are saying. And on the other end of the spectrum you have the people whose life goal is to hate and I mean HATE Christianity or any religion for that matter. These people have seriously got something against religion. I don't what it is but they've got it. In my opinion, these people are, more often that not, uneducated, with a blatant intolerance for acceptance of other religions . I'm neither a philosopher nor an intolerant fool. I'm 15. Im a normal teenager. I'm not going to sugarcoat nor am I planning to highly offend anyone. I want to get my points across. Plain and simple. Be warned this book is 99.99% of my rants on things Christian related and 0.01% bible verses that I took the time to go look for. This is my take on Christianity.
