You might think that the battle is over.

Because I'm on the road to home.

But what you don't understand is.

The battle rages even when I am alone.

Every moment that I spent fighting.

Is now spent to wash away the pain.

From the many horrors that I saw.

And thousands of people slain.

Don't think for a single moment.

That since I am army strong.

These things don't sink in my heart.

Holding me down all day long.

Please understand what I went through.

Gone to hell, seems I'm in one piece.

But behind all the curtains.

I can barely breathe.

Tears pour out from my soul.

For every memory still residing in me.

I can never again be made whole.

My burden is burning as you can see.

Yes, I have made it through war.

Yes, I believe what I fought for was true.

Yes, I have seen terrible gore.

Yes, I am glad that it is now through.

None of the people who fought for me.

Will be the same as the day they signed up.

But everyday I will make it known.

That they are honored for what they've done.

Thank you for serving your country.

For saving the lives of many innocents.

For faithfully fighting and not loosing hope.

You have brought a spark of peace, more than a tint.

May God be with you forever. i
